Pockets are included on the inside of the binder assembly for securing additional loose-leaf papers. Manufacturing processes of the binder assembly include methods in which the same material is used for all components and in which different materials are used to manufacture various components in the same process.

摘要： A double vision binder includes a front cover, a rear cover and a binding portion; a large transparent pocket is formed on the front cover of the binder by a layer of transparent sheet material bonded to the front cover on three sides; and additional smaller transparent pockets are bonded to the first transparent layer, so that a large sheet of background visual material may be inserted in the large pocket, with an overlay of additional visual material in the small pockets. the first layer may extend over the entire outer surface of the binder to provide additional pockets on the rear cover and on the binding portion of the assembly. A plurality of the small pockets may be formed from a single transparent sheet, with pockets separated by bonding lines.

摘要： A paper assembly is formed having an envelope and a carrier portion, such that the overall assembly is a generally flat paper assembly having a length and width of a standard paper size such as 8½ in.×11 in. or A-4 size. The assembly, having a footprint equal to a standard paper size, may be fed into a standard size paper tray of a printer such as a laser printer or an ink jet printer, with the printer printing on the front face of the envelop. After printing the envelope may be stuffed with material to be mailed, and the envelope separated from the carrier portion and sealed for mailing. In a first embodiment the carrier is an L-shaped piece of paper that is formed separately from the envelope and releasably adhered to the backside thereof, the L-cut having an acute angle and a rounded corner. In another embodiment the L-shaped carrier is releasably adhered to the front side of the envelope. In another embodiment the entire assembly including the carrier portion and the envelope is formed from a single oversized die cut sheet of paper, folded and glued to create an envelope releasably connected by cuts and ties to the remainder of the assembly to form an assembly having a footprint equal to a standard size sheet of paper, and then loaded into a standard size printer tray for printing on the envelope. After being printed upon the envelope is separated from the carrier portion and sealed for mailing.

One or more backgrounds may be provided, each with graphics, so that a user may select one of the backgrounds and then insert the selected background into the sleeve. When visual material such as a photograph is then inserted into one of the pockets, the background, particularly the graphics, is visible at the margins. The leaf is particularly suitable for albums, such photo albums, scrap books, card-collecting albums, and so on. The leaf may include a binding portion to enable easy binding in, for example, a standard three-ring, strap-bound, or post-bound binder to form such albums.

Embodiments exemplary of the alignment mechanism include various stopper constructions, pocket constructions, and the like. For example, a pocket can be formed within an index tab, such that the pocket contains an opening at the bottom for receiving an edge of a mounting sheet. The edge of the mounting sheet becomes aligned with the index tab when it fully engages the top of the pocket, which acts as a stopper. After alignment is achieved, the index tab is adhered to the mounting sheet. Various shapes and materials that are beneficial in the new tab constructions are also disclosed.
