摘要： Disclosed is a novel catalyst and process using the novel catalyst for the oxidative dehydrogenation and cracking of C.sub.2 to C.sub.5 paraffins (homogeneous hydrocarbons or mixtures such as liquified gas to C.sub.2 to C.sub.5 olefins in the presence of an oxygen-containing gas and water vapor. The novel catalyst has the following formulaX.sub.a Y.sub.b Z.sub.c A.sub.d O.sub.x,where, referring to the Periodic System,X is an element of Group II and/or IV b (Mg, Ca, Za, Ti, Zr . . . )Y is a Lanthanide and/or an element of Group IVa or Va (Ce, La, Nd, Dy, Sn, Pr, Sb, Pb . . . );Z is an element of Group I (Li, Na, K . . . );A is an element of Group VII (Cl, Br, I . . . );O is oxygen; anda is 0.4 to 0.9,b is 0.005 to 0.3,c is 0.05 to 1.5,d is 0.05 to 0.8, andx is determined by the valance requirements of metals and halogens.The catalyst is used in the form of pressed spherical pellets or extrudates with added binder or deposited on a carrier material of one of the aforementioned oxidic components or of a separate carrier material. The weight-related space velocity, relative to the hydrocarbons used, is in the range of 0.1 to 20 h.sup.-1 and the temperature is 400 to 700.degree. C.

摘要： A process which comprises providing a porous matrix, mixing said porous matrix with a precursor solution containing manganese and cerium ions dissolved therein, triggering the formation of a non-fluid phase which contains manganese and cerium in the interior of said porous matrix, separating said porous matrix from a liquid phase containing soluble metals, completing the formation of said non-fluid phase which contains manganese and cerium in the interior of said porous matrix, heat treating said porous matrix to convert said non-fluid phase containing manganese and cerium placed therein into a manganese oxide-cerium oxide composite, and isolating said composite from said porous matrix. The resulting composite, and its use as a catalyst, are also provided.

摘要： The present invention provides a high capacity adsorbent for removing sulfur from hydrocarbon streams. The adsorbent comprises a composite material containing particles of a nickel phosphide complex NixP. The adsorbent is utilized in a sulfur removal process that does not require added hydrogen, and run at relatively low temperatures ranging from about 150° C. to about 400° C. The process of this invention enables “ultra-deep” desulfurization down to levels of about 1 ppm and less.
