    • A revolving plate for a sliver depositing device of a sliver-producing or sliver-processing spinning preparation machine is suggested that is designed for depositing sliver supplied in a running manner into a container (10), which revolving plate (1) has a press surface (7) arranged vertically to its axis of rotation (11) for pressing the deposited sliver into the container (10) and has a sliver passage (2) with a helical spatial curve , whereas the entrance opening (5) of the sliver passage (2) is arranged in such a manner that the supplied sliver enters into the sliver passage (2) parallel to the axis of rotation (11) of the revolving plate (1) and without bends, and whereas the exit opening (6) of the sliver passage (2) is in the plane of the press surface (7). The revolving plate in accordance with the invention is distinguished in that the sliver passage (2) has such a shape at least on a predominant part of its length that at a given ratio between the supply speed of the sliver and the speed of the revolving plate (1) substantially no force acting on the sliver to be deposited and tangential to the axis of rotation (11) of the revolving plate (1) occurs along the sliver passage (2) in order to reduce in this manner the friction of the sliver on the inner wall of the sliver passage in order to prevent the accumulation and collecting of particles on the inner wall of the sliver passage that loosened out of the sliver. A corresponding method for depositing a sliver supplied in a running manner into a container is also suggested.

    • A ringworm vaccine is disclosed comprising antigen isolated from at least one dermatophyte and a suitable carrier. The “antigen” can include a single antigen from a dermatophyte or a plurality of antigens as long as at least one antigen is included which will produce a sufficient immune response to confer resistance to ringworm infection upon the recipient of the vaccine. The antigen can also be isolated from more than one dermatophyte. If a preparation from more than one dermatophyte is made the antigen can include antigens which are common to all species of dermatophytes employed and/or antigens which are only specific to certain species. A method of producing such a ringworm vaccine is also disclosed. The method comprises making an antigen preparation comprising the dermatophyte antigen described above and combining the antigen preparation with a suitable carrier. Methods of treating a patient are also disclosed employing the vaccine of the present invention and vaccines produced according to the method of the present invention. Methods are also disclosed for treating a pregnant patient with such vaccines such that the progeny of the pregnancy exhibit resistance to ringworm infection at birth.

    • A yarn is fed at a piecing speed to the fiber collection surface of a spinning rotor. It is there combined with the fibers of a fiber ring and is then drawn off from the spinning rotor in the form of a continuous yarn while fibers newly fed into the spinning rotor continue to be incorporated in the yarn. The rotor speed is changed, immediately after piecing, from the piecing speed to a rotational speed which is lower than the piecing speed. The rotor speed is then increased to the production speed. In this manner, optimal conditions are achieved with respect to propagation of twist and draw-off of the piecing joint. To carry out this process, elements are provided for the reduction of the rotor speed from piecing speed to a lower value, for renewed acceleration of the rotor speed after a desired minimum value has been reached of after the passage of a predetermined period of time, as well as elements to tie the accelerating rotor speed to the desired production speed.

    • A process of stacking bobbin formers in superimposed layers in a former magazine and separating the bobbin formers of, at least, the lowest layer and removing them from the former magazine. The bobbin formers of the lowest layer are maintained in contact on their underside with a support which moves in direction of the discharge point. A device for the storage of bobbin formers in a former magazine comprising a conveyor is disposed below the stored bobbin formers to separate said bobbin formers. The running direction of the conveyor is essentially tangential to the surface of the stored bobbin formers. The device includes a device for the removal of separated bobbin formers is supported on a support which is moved in the direction of the discharge point. This support exerts a tangential frictional force upon the surfaces of the bobbin formers so that said bobbin formers roll towards the discharge point.
