    • There is provided a flame-retardant knit fabric that sufficiently provides texture and amenity inherent in cotton or urethane foam as a material used in upholstered furniture such as mattresses and chairs, bedding products such as pillows, mattress pads, and futon, and the like, and can make these products highly flame-retardant. The present invention relates to a knit fabric comprising at least two fibers selected from the group consisting of (A) a halogen-containing fiber, (B) a cellulosic fiber, (C) a flame-retardant cellulosic fiber, and (D) a polyester fiber, the knit fabric having a weight per unit area of 150 g/m2 or more, having a thickness of 0.5 mm or more, and having a content of a flame retardant in the whole knit fabric of 2 wt % or more, wherein (weight per unit area of the knit fabric (g/m2))×(thickness of the knit fabric (mm))×(content of the flame retardant in the whole knit fabric (wt %)/100)=10 or more.

    • A flame resistant synthetic fiber having advanced flame resistance is provided. Furthermore, the flame resistant synthetic fiber may preferably be used in textiles used for furniture, such as beddings and chairs, such as mattress, and sofa, etc. that need extremely high carbonizability rendered highly flame resistant by flame resistant agents and advanced flame resistance. The present invention also aims at obtaining upholstered furniture products using the flame resistant fiber composite having advanced flame resistance. That is, the present invention relates to a flame resistant fiber composite consisting of a flame resistant synthetic fiber (A) not less than 10 parts by weight, and at least one fiber (B) selected from a natural fiber and/or a chemical fiber (B) not more than 90 parts by weight, the flame resistant synthetic fiber (A) comprising a zinc compound 3 to 50 parts by weight, an antimony compound 0 to 30 parts by weight, and an other inorganic compound 3 to 30 parts by weight, a total amount of these compounds being not less than 15 parts by weight to a polymer containing halogen atom of not less than 17% by weight 100 parts by weight, and also relates to upholstered furniture products using the flame resistant fiber composite.

    • There are disclosed a flame retardant polyethylene terephthalate resin composition comprising (A) a polyethylene terephthalate resin containing ethylene terephthalate units as a main constituent, prepared by the use of a germanium compound as a catalyst, (B) a halogen flame retardant, (C) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of epoxy compounds and carbodiimide compounds and (D) an antimony compound, and moreover, resin compositions further containing, besides those (A), (B), (C) and (D), at least one selected from the group consisting of (E) a reinforcing filler, (F) at least one inorganic compound composed of silicates and silicic acid and (G) a crystallization accelerator. The resin compositions are excellent in physical properties and wet heat resistance. By the addition of the specific inorganic compounds and the crystallization accelerators, releasability is also improved and thus high cyclization of molding is possible.

    • The object of the present invention is to provide a bedding in which polyester having excellent elasticity is used for a batting therein, and which is provided with high-grade flame retardance so as to withstand long-time flaming, even though only a small amount of a halogen-containing fiber is used therein. By configuring the flame-retardant bedding product so that it is composed of a batting and a ticking for covering the batting and that the batting comprises a cellulose fiber (A), a polyester fiber (B), and a halogen-containing fiber (C) as essential components, the bedding product is caused to achieve the above-described object. In addition to the excellent flame retardance, the bedding product of the present invention is allowed to have excellent cushiony properties, since a large amount of a polyester fiber can be used therein because the amount of a halogen-containing fiber used therein is relatively small. Further, with the present invention, even a flame-retardant bedding product in which an easily inflammable fiber such as a polyester fiber or a cellulose fiber is used for a ticking exhibits sufficient flame retardance. Therefore, it is possible to provide a bedding that exhibits excellent feeling and touch as well as flame retardance.
