    • A magneto-optical recording medium comprises a substrate, a magneto-optical recording layer formed of a rare earth metal-transition metal alloy and a dielectric protective layer overlaid in this order on the substrate, and a rare earth metal layer overlaid on an edge face of the magneto-optical recording layer. The magneto-optical recording medium wherein the substrate is annular is made by forming the magneto-optical recording layer, covering the recording region on the magneto-optical recording layer with an annular mask having an outer diameter not larger than the outer diameter of the magneto-optical recording layer and/or an inner diameter not smaller than the inner diameter of the magneto-optical recording layer, overlaying the rare earth metal layer on an outer edge face and/or an inner edge face of the magneto-optical recording layer by dispersing rare earth metal particles toward the annular mask, removing the annular mask, and overlaying the dielectric protective layer on the magneto-optical recording layer.

    • A projector of a reflection type has a Fresnel lens disposed under a stage surface on which a transparency is set. A light source is disposed under the Fresnel lens, and illuminates the stage surface through the Fresnel lens. An illuminating mirror is disposed in a position higher than the stage surface, reflects light passed through the transparency after emanation from the light source, and illuminates the transparency downwards. A projection lens projects an image of the transparency via the Fresnel lens to a screen. A liquid crystal display (LCD) panel is disposed so that the stage surface lies thereon, and displays an image to be projected to the screen. The LCD panel is transparent when the transparency is set on the stage surface, and enables projection of the image.

    • A projector of a reflection type has a transparent stage plate on which a transparent original sheet is set. A lamp illuminates the original sheet through the stage plate. A Fresnel mirror is laid on an upside of the original sheet, and reflects light from the original sheet in a convergent manner. The light from the Fresnel mirror is reflected away from the stage plate. The light is again reflected, and incident upon a projecting lens, which projects an image of the original sheet to a screen. A housing contains the Fresnel mirror in movable fashion. An inserting slot is formed in the housing, into which the original sheet is inserted during supply of the original sheet. Photo sensors operate to detect a front edge of the original sheet inserted through the inserting slot. It is also detected that the original sheet is set on the stage plate. An ejector switch is operated for ejection of the original sheet. A solenoid shifts the Fresnel mirror up away from a set position in response to a signal from the photo sensors or the ejector switch. The Fresnel mirror is shifted down to the set position in response to a sheet setting signal, to lie on the original sheet. A sheet feeder roller moves the original sheet from the inserting slot to the stage plate during the supply, and moves the original sheet out of the housing during the ejection of the original sheet.
