    • A baked food product comprising a layered assembly and methods of making the baked food product are disclosed. The layered assembly comprises a top whole grain layer and a bottom whole grain layer. Each whole grain layer comprises a plurality of shredded whole grain strands. The assembly includes a first exterior surface defined by the top whole grain layer and a second exterior surface defined by the bottom whole grain layer. One or more of the exterior surfaces of the assembly is treated with a salt solution and the treated surface comprises a nonenzymatic browning portion formed by a Maillard reaction during baking of the product. The layered assembly can include one or more middle whole grain layers and can be in a biscuit form.

    • A crispy and puffy snack food, such as a chip, and method of making the same is disclosed. The method includes mixing potato flour with oil and water and cooking the mixture; adding more water and extruding the cooked mixture; rolling the extruded mixture to a sheet; cutting the sheet into shapes; drying the shapes; puffing the shapes; and optionally coating the puffed shapes with oil, salt, and/or seasonings. The shapes may be round or polygonal with a diameter or sides about 1.3 to about 5 cm in length and have a bulk density of about 60 to about 120 g/L and an undulating surface due to trapped air pockets. The snack food can include other vegetable ingredients and flavorings.

    • This disclosure describes a food packaging product constructed of a non-rigid material. Initially, an interior cavity of the food packaging product contains a food product. To prepare the food product for consumption, a consumer opens the food packaging product and empties the food product into a container. After emptying the food product into the container, the consumer pours a liquid into the interior cavity of the food packaging product such that a top surface of the liquid is substantially level with a fill line marked on the food packaging product. The fill line is visible on the interior cavity of the food packaging product. The material of the food packaging product prevents the liquid from leaking out of the interior cavity of the food packaging product. The consumer then pours the liquid into the container, thereby creating a mixture of the food product and the liquid.
