摘要： A series hybrid transmission includes a first motor device for driving a first shaft, a second motor device for driving a second shaft. Drive gears on the first and second shafts can be simultaneously engaged in the same or different gears and torque from the two motor devices can he multiplied. When shifting up or down, the drive gear on one of the shafts can be disengaged while the drive gear on the other one of the shafts remains engaged to avoid interruption in application of torque.

摘要： A method is provided of operating a diesel engine having an exhaust aftertreatment system (EATS) including one or more apparatus for controlling exhaust NOX levels, the engine including a plurality of systems and components, at least some of which systems and components are adapted to be set to one or more control setpoints for one or more base actuators of the engine. The method includes establishing a plurality of engine operating modes, each operating mode differing from any other operating mode with respect to at least one control setpoint, for each operating mode, mapping fuel economy versus NOX levels exiting the EATS, selecting an operating mode from among the plurality of operating modes so that exhaust exiting the EATS contains NOX at no more than a predetermined NOX level and a least amount of fuel is consumed per unit energy; and operating the engine in the selected operating mode. An engine arrangement is also provided.

摘要： The present invention relates to a waste heat recovery system including a first heating line, a second heating line, and a valve section. The first heating line in a working fluid circuit includes a first heat exchanger operatively connected to transfer heat energy to a working fluid. The second heating line in the working fluid circuit includes a second heat exchanger operatively connected to transfer heat to the working fluid. The valve section is selectively controllable to provide a first configuration in which the first heat exchanger and second heat exchangers are operatively connected to the working fluid circuit in parallel and a second configuration in which the first heat exchanger and second heat exchanger are operatively connected to the working fluid circuit in series.

摘要： An auxiliary transmission oil pump, driven from the output shaft of a vehicle automatic transmission, bypasses the transmission automatic control logic and supplies pressurized oil to operate the appropriate clutch or clutches to provide a suitable transmission ratio during a push or tow start of the vehicle. The output of the auxiliary pump is controlled by the vehicle direction control valve so that push starting may be accomplished only when the control valve is in the ''''forward'''' position. Once the engine starts, the main transmission oil pump absorbs the flow from the auxiliary pump so that the transmission automatic control logic directs the operation of the transmission.

摘要： To provide a durable seal for combustion gases, a cylinder sleeve (or block) is formed with an annular bead preferably chamfered on its outer edge and a cylinder head is formed with an annular groove. A fire ring made of a deformable metal is placed on top of the bead so that when the cylinder head is clamped to the block, the fire ring is extruded by the bead on the cylinder sleeve (or block) into the groove on the cylinder head. A separate gasket body provided in the block to head joint provides a seal for the coolant and oil passages therebetween.

摘要： A preferred embodiment of this invention comprises a cam rotatably carried by the drive shaft of a motor that operates the windshield wipers of a vehicle. The cam carries one end of a cable, which is connected to an extension of an air cleaner selector valve that is normally held in a position allowing the passage of air from outside by a spring connected thereto. As the shaft oscillates, the cam is rotated and tensions the cable to move the selector valve to a position allowing the passage of air from under the hood. In order to hold the valve in this latter position, a lever operated by the motor engages a shoulder on the cam and holds it in place until the motor is turned off.
