The protein (a) consists of an amino acid sequence of any one of SEQ ID NOS: 2, 4, 6 and 8, and the protein (b) consists of an amino acid sequence derived from the amino acid sequence of any one of SEQ ID NOS: 2, 4, 6 and 8 by substitution, deletion or addition of at least one or more amino acids, has resistance to a pyrimidinyl carboxy herbicide, and has acetolactate synthase activity.

摘要： The present invention provides methods for inducing tissue-specific expression, which includes preparing an expression vector having a promoter. The promoter includes any one of the following DNAs (a) to (c): (a) a DNA, which includes the nucleotide sequence shown in SEQ ID NO: 1; (b) a DNA, which includes the nucleotide sequence ranging from nucleotides 1344 to 2843 of SEQ ID NO: 1; and (c) a DNA, which is a DNA fragment that can hybridize under stringent conditions to a DNA fragment including a nucleotide sequence fully complementary to the nucleotide sequence shown in SEQ ID NO: 1, wherein (a), (b) or (c) can control the transcription of a coding sequence located downstream thereof; and wherein the stringent conditions are 5×SSC at 42° C.; The expression vector, also, includes a coding sequence located downstream of the promoter. Additionally, the method includes introducing the expression vector into a plant cell to obtain a transgenic plant; wherein the promoter activity is lower in mature seeds or root bases than in plant tissues other than mature seeds or root bases. The present invention also provides transformants containing a promoter; the promoter includes any of the DNAs (a) to (c) described above.

摘要： Transformed cells are efficiently selected using a mutant ALS gene having high specificity to PC herbicides. The transformation method comprises the steps of: transforming a host cell with a recombination vector containing a gene of interest and a gene coding for a mutant acetolactate synthase having mutation of glycine corresponds to position 95 of the amino acid sequence of a wild-type acetolactate synthase derived from rice to alanine; culturing the transformed cell obtained in the former step in the presence of a pyrimidinyl carboxy herbicide; and wherein the gene coding for the mutant acetolactate synthase is used as a selection marker.

摘要： The present invention provides a herbicidal composition containing a novel pyrimidine derivative having the formula (1), ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a trifluoromethanesulfonyioxy group, an ethenyl group which may be substituted, or an ethynyl group which may be substituted; R.sup.2 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, 2-trimethylsilyl ethyl group; R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are the same or different, and are a methoxy group or a halogen atom; X is an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom; and Z is a methine group; or its salt, as an active ingredient.The pyrimidine derivative of the present invention exhibits an excellent herbicidal effect against noxious weeds which grow in paddy fields, upland fields and non-agricultural fields.

摘要： The present invention provides a method for assessing sensitivity of a rice blast fungus to a scytalone dehydratase inhibitor, comprising the steps of: (a) and (b), which (a) identifies an amino acid in an amino acid sequence of a scytalone dehydratase isolated from the rice blast fungus, where the amino acid corresponds to valine at position 75 of SEQ ID NO: 4; and (b) assesses the sensitivity of the rice blast fungus to the scytalone dehydratase inhibitor, where if the amino acid identified in step (a) is methionine, the sensitivity of the rice blast fungus to The scytalone dehydratase inhibitor is assessed to be lower than that of a wild-type rice blast fungus which endogenously produces the scytalone dehydratase of SEQ ID NO: 4.
