    • A method, system and program product for overriding existing functionality provided in an application programming interface (API) for a local protocol implementation is provided. The method includes providing an API for a local protocol implementation having a raw interface function that can be invoked by a client application to override existing functionality provided in the API. The method further includes defining for the raw interface function an array of pre-formed payload elements to be included for creating a customized protocol request message for requesting a protocol service from a server application using a remote protocol implementation different than the local protocol implementation, populating data for each element in the array defined, and invoking the raw interface function, which takes as input the array defined and inserts them, in order, behind a protocol message header of the protocol request message and sends the customized protocol request message to the server application.

    • A multiple electron beam source comprises a photon source to generate a photon beam, a lens to focus the photon beam, a photocathode having a photon receiving surface and an electron emitting surface, and an array of electron transmission gates spaced apart from the electron emitting surface of the photocathode by a distance dg.     • Apparatus and a method for non-contact electrical testing of printed circuit boards, solid state display devices, integrated circuits and other substrates with traces that connect together components of a circuit, using two modulated charged particle beams. The apparatus includes two sources of beams, electrodes to modulate the beams, optics to focus the beams and deflection coils to deflect the beams over a large area. The apparatus also has an enclosure around the optics and the deflection coils of magnetically soft material. A surrounding solenoid excitation coil creates an almost uniform axial magnetic field within the magnetic enclosure. A detection system for detecting the voltage contrast signals, including suitable signal processing system is also provided. The use of two beams simultaneously allows fast, direct measurement of impedance parameters. By selecting appropriate beam modulation frequencies, the sensitivity to a certain kind of defect can be selectively increased. The use of modulated beams and frequency filtering of the voltage contrast signals allows such measurement to be quantitative, more sensitive and more discriminating between various possible defects in the interconnection network then the prior art methods.
