    • A seismic data acquisition system includes a connector housing and a mating electrical circuitry module. A single interface couples electrical circuitry housed in the electrical circuitry module to one or more signal data carriers that are consolidated at a single location in the connector housing. Preferably, the connector housing and electrical circuitry module each have a substantially contaminant-free interior regardless of whether these two parts are mated. An alternate connector housing has two plug casings, each of which are provided with a plug. A complementary alternate electrical circuitry module includes two receptacles complementary to the plugs and an interior space for holding the electrical circuitry. A locking pin disposed within the plug casing selectively engages the electrical circuitry module. A method for establishing communication between electrical circuitry and the carriers and external devices includes providing a single communication interface between the carrier and the electrical circuitry.

    • A rail joint assembly is provided for joining abutting railroad rails with an electrically-insulated joint. The rail joint assembly comprises abutting railroad rails compressing an insulating gasket therebetween and rail joint bars secured through a plurality of holes by fasteners to the adjacent railroad rails. The rail joint bars comprise a body and an insulating spacer comprising a porous mesh screen and washer. A layer of epoxy is sandwiched between a rail joint bar and railroad rail and comprises a rigid epoxy on lateral portions of a first side of a rail joint bar and a flexible epoxy placed on a central portion of the first side of a rail joint bar. Rail joint bars are rectangular shaped and may have a cutout.

    • It has been discovered that all causes of critical dimension variation, both known and unknown, are compensated by adjusting the time of photoresist etch. Accordingly, a control method employs a control system using photoresist etch time as a manipulated variable in either a feedforward or a feedback control configuration to control critical dimension variation during semiconductor fabrication. By controlling critical dimensions through the adjustment of photoresist etch time, many advantages are achieved including a reduced lot-to-lot variation, an increased yield, and increased speed of the fabricated circuits. In one embodiment these advantages are achieved for polysilicon gate critical dimension control in microprocessor circuits. Polysilicon gate linewidth variability is reduced using a control method using either feedforward and feedback or feedback alone. In some embodiments, feedback control is implemented for controlling critical dimensions using photoresist etch time as a manipulated variable. In an alternative embodiment, critical dimensions are controlled using RF power as a manipulated variable. A run-to-run control technique is used to drive the critical dimensions of integrated circuits to a set specification. In a run-to-run control technique a wafer test or measurement is made and a process control recipe is adjusted based on the result of the test or measurement on a run-by-run basis. The run-to-run control technique is applied to drive the critical dimensions of a polysilicon gate structure to a target specification. The run-to-run control technique is applied to drive the critical dimensions in an integrated circuit to a defined specification using photoresist etch time as a manipulated variable.

    • The present invention provides a removable flexible holder for an open-top liquid container which is especially designed to be used in an automobile or other type of vehicle. The holder uses a flexible hinge for its base which enables the holder to expand or contract to accommodate various sizes of containers. The holder also has an attachment means which adjusts to almost any size of car door due to a bendable hinge which resiliently urges the holder against the car door. Additionally, the holder has a slot which will accommodate a container having a handle such as a mug.
