    • A multilayer silver halide color photographic element comprises a support having coated thereon a silver antihalation layer, an interlayer, at least two red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers, at least two green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers a yellow filter layer, and at least two blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers, wherein a silver halide emulsion layer or a nonsensitive layer adjacent thereto comprises a bleach accelerator releasing coupler of formulaA-(TIME).sub.n -S-X-Rwherein A represents a coupler residue releasing from (TIME).sub.n -S-X-R upon reaction with the oxidation product of a color developing agent; TIME represents a timing group releasing S-X-R with delay under developing conditions; n represents 0 or 1; X represents a divalent linking groups consisting of an alkylene group containing 1 to 8 carbon atoms; and R represents a group selected in the group consisting of a), b) and c): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents hydrogen or a monovalent chemical group, n represents 0 or 1, Z represents the atoms necessary to complete a 5- or 6-membered ring or a fused ring, and R.sub.2 and R.sub.4, equal or different, each represents hydrogen, an alkyl group, an aryl group, --SO.sub.2 R.sub.4 or --COR.sub.4, wherein R.sub.4 represents an alkyl group or an aryl group. The invention provides reduction in residual silver levels after processing, without deleteriously affecting sensitometric properties and color reproduction performance of the photographic element.

    • An infrared sensitive silver halide photographic element is disclosed comprising a support and at least one silver halide emulsion layer spectrally sensitized to the infrared portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. In particular, an infrared sensitive color photographic element, capable of providing full color images without exposure to corresponding visible radiation, is disclosed, said element comprising at least three silver halide emulsion layers on a substrate, each associated with different photographic color image forming materials, such as color couplers capable of forming dyes of different colors upon reaction with an oxidized color photographic developer, diffusing dyes, bleachable dyes, or oxidized leuco dyes. The three emulsion layers are sensitized to three different portions of the electromagnetic spectrum with at least two layers sensitized to different regions of the infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum. The infrared sensitive element is characterized in that at least one infrared sensitized emulsion layer is associated with a 1-aryl-5-mercaptotetrazole compound substituted in the aryl group by at least one electron-attracting group.The infrared sensitive photographic element has high sensitivity to infrared radiation and undergoes less change in sensitivity during storage.

    • The present invention refers to a silver halide photographic element containing a support having coated thereon at least a silver halide emulsion layer spectrally sensitized with a sensitizing dye according to the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein Z represents the atoms necessary to complete a 6-membered nitrogen-containing heterocyclic nucleus; at least 2 members of R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 --but not R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 together--represent an organic group carrying a water-solubilizing group in free acid form, in salt form or in latent form, and are same or different, the members of R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 that do not represent a said organic radical carrying a water-solubilizing group represent hydrogen, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group or an aryl group; and n is 0 or 1.The silver halide photographic material has the advantage to have a broad sensitivity in the red portion of the spectrum. It can be exposed to laser beam sources in the range of 600-700 nm.
