摘要： A method and apparatus constructs a preferred certificate chain, such as a list of all certificate authorities in a shortest trusted path, based on generated certificate chain data, such as a table of trust relationships among certificate issuing units in a community of interest, to facilitate rapid validity determination of the certificate by a requesting unit. In one embodiment, requesting units, such as certificate validation units or subscribers, send queries to a common certificate chain constructing unit. Each query may identify a beginning and target certification authority in the community. The certificate chain constructing unit then automatically determines the certification chain among certification issuing units between the beginning and target certification authorities for each query and provides certificate chain data to the requesting unit. The requesting unit then performs validity determination on the certificate to be validated based on the certificate chain data.

摘要： The present invention generally relates to a sample receiving device for releasably storing a substance. The sample receiving device includes a lid having a reservoir for retaining the substance, and a pierceable barrier sealing the substance within the reservoir; and b) a funnel for receiving a sample and configured for closure by the lid. The funnel is configured for releasable attachment to a sample receptacle such that a sample can be provided to the funnel and travel through the channel in the funnel into the sample receptacle. Further, the funnel includes one or more cutting ribs for cutting the pierceable barrier such that upon cutting of the pierceable barrier the substance is released from the reservoir, flows through the channel in the funnel and into the sample receptacle to be mixed with the sample. The present invention also provides a kit for collecting and storing biomolecules.

摘要： A method and apparatus, such as a secure distribution server, receives encrypted information from a sender, wherein the encrypted information is for transmission to a plurality of intended recipients. In addition to the encrypted information, the method includes receiving an encrypted secret key that is encrypted using a public key associated with the secure distribution server. The method and apparatus decrypts the encrypted secret key to produce a decrypted secret key. The method and apparatus then encrypts the decrypted secret key with the corresponding public key of at least one (or each of a plurality of) intended recipient(s) to produce at least one (or plurality of) recipient-specific secure secret keys. The method and apparatus then forwards the received encrypted information sent by the sender and also sends at least one recipient-specific secure secret key to a corresponding intended recipient.

摘要： A light beam collimated by illumination optics (4) from a radiation source (6) illuminates the surface of a wave front modulator (8) such as an Spatial Light Modulator (SLM) or Computer Generated Hologram photomask (CGH). The resulting wave travels via projection optics (10) to the substrate (12), passing through a projection lens assembly (14). The SLM (8) is programmed or CGH configured with a modulation pattern that is determined by the substrate (12) topography and desired pattern. The substrate topography is provided by Digital Holography (DH) surface profilometery performed by a DH microscope (18), which provides geometrical or topographical input to the CGH calculation routines (16). An arrangement for vertical or sloping surface patterning has a grating (22) superimposed onto the CGH pattern (24) to generate +1 and −1 orders. The SLM or CGH may be configured: using Fresnel patterns to provide an extended depth of field of the projected wave front; by encoding line segments of the desired pattern as cylindrical lines; by calculating inverse propagation between non-planar topography of the substrate and the SLM or CGH (using a Rayleigh-Sommerfield diffraction formula); and/or using iteration to determine a restricted encoding in the configuration of the SLM or CGH.
