    • Motor vehicle gearbox, comprising a housing with at least one input shaft and at least one intermediate shaft having a gear engaged with a gear on the output shaft. At least one gear of each pair of mutually engaging gears is releasable from its shaft. An over-running clutch is coupled between a releasable gear for a gear speed, preferably the releasable gear for the lowest gear speed, for driving forward and the housing and is arranged to prevent that gear from having substantial rotation in a direction opposite to the direction of rotation for driving forward. However, provision is made for a very limited rotation of that gear in that opposite direction. For this purpose, the over-running clutch has an outer ring, an inner ring fixed to the releasable gear for the gear speed in question for driving forward, and blocking members arranged between the rings which permit rotation of the inner ring only in the direction for driving forward. The outer ring has at least one projection with projects into a peripheral cavity in a sleeve element fixed to the housing; and the play of this projection in the cavity permits very limited rotation of the outer ring relative to the housing. The outer ring is spring-urged in the releasing direction of the over-running clutch.

    • A device for motor vehicle braking systems, which is designed to facilitate starting on hills. The device comprises a piston cylinder device, controlled by an electronic unit which is coupled to a pneumatic or hydraulic pressure system and acts on the brake pedal. Signals are fed to the electronic unit from a sensor for vehicle speed and direction and from a pair of sensors sensing brake pedal position and gas pedal position. When the signals from the first-mentioned sensor indicate that the vehicle has been brought to a stop after movement in a direction differing from the direction selected via the gear selector and indicated by sensor, at the same time as the two other sensors signal that the brake pedal has been depressed and the gas pedal has been released, the piston cylinder device is activated to brake the vehicle. If the accelerator is then depressed the device is deactivated and the brake is released.

    • A device for reducing mechanical rattle between a pair of interengaging gears, comprising a gear element cooperating with one gear, this gear element being rotatably mounted on a hub portion joined to the one gear, having the same tooth profile and number of teeth as the one gear and being connected to the one gear via rotationally resilient elements, which are pre-tensioned in an engagement position of the gears. The resilient elements comprise elastic elements (13; 20) which are disposed in opposing, circumferentially spaced cavities (11, 12) in the hub portion (9) and in a circumferentially inner surface of the gear element (8) that faces the hub portion (9) disposed to keep the gear element and the one gear angularly displaced relatively to each other before they are brought into engagement with the other of the pair of interengaging gears. The cavities (12) in the hub portion (9) are arcuate, as viewed in a radial plane, while the cavities (11) in the gear element (8) have a first limiting surface (11a) which is tangential relative to a circumference of the hub, and a second limiting surface (11b) which extends essentially perpendicular to and radially inward from a radially outer end of the first limiting surface. The resilient elements are elastic elements (20) of rubber or a rubber-like material.
