摘要： A hydraulic servo unit for a vehicular power transmission system having a helical gear, including a clutch for connecting predetermined rotary elements to each other and a hydraulic servo for applying the clutch, the hydraulic servo including a cylinder, a piston fitted in the cylinder, a push member abutting against the piston through a bearing for transmitting the push force of the piston to the clutch, and a return spring for the piston, one of the rotary elements including a reaction member opposed to the push member for transmitting the push force of the piston to a case, and the cylinder is a stationary cylinder formed in the case. Further, the return spring is arranged between the push member and the reaction member and is loaded to apply a load higher than the thrust force of the helical gear, as acting upon the reaction member.

Upon determination of the power-off condition, the hydraulic control device regulates the control oil pressure applied to the engaging element, such that the oil pressure is rapidly increased from the beginning of a shifting process, and is maintained at a high level until the shifting process is about to be completed. Upon determination of the power-on condition, the control device regulates the control oil pressure such that the oil pressure is maintained at a low level from the beginning of the shifting process, and is increased just before completion of the shifting process.

摘要： A shift lever apparatus for use with an automatic transmission of the type which is incorporated in a vehicle has a shaft member which is adapted to be rotated about its axis by the operation of a seat occupant and a shift lock mechanism arranged to engage with the shaft member to inhibit the rotation of the shaft member when the shift-lever position of "parking" or "neutral" is selected, as well as to disengage from the shaft member by the braking operation of a brake operating mechanism which is mechanically connected to the shift lock mechanism to thereby allow the shaft member to rotate about its axis. Accordingly, when the shift-lever position of "parking" or "neutral" is selected, the position of a shift lever can be changed to another shift-lever position if the shaft member is not in a braked state.

摘要： The invention provides a multi-gear ratio gearbox with a reverse. The gearbox is characterized by having a very short overall length. It has an input drive shaft (11) and an output shaft (12) in coaxial relationship, two counter shafts (13 and 14) arranged in parallelism thereto and furthermore groups of gear wheels mounted on these shafts, the gear wheels in such groups being placed in three gear wheel planes. The clutches for coupling the different gear wheels with their shafts are in a common plane which for its part is between the gear wheel planes. This arrangement leads to an extremely compact design of the gearbox, more particularly as regards its axial length so that the gearbox is specially well suited for combination with a coaxial change-speed transmission on the output side. If such further transmission is an epicyclic gearing unit the overall length will be within the length range of plain transmissions as so far proposed.

The control system includes an operator actuated selector valve (160) for selection of a desired auxiliary section gear ratio and for selectively pressurizing or exhausting first (2) and second (3) selectively pressurized and exhausted fluid conduits which are directly fluidly connected to first and second (186 and 184) inlet ports at the remotely located actuator assembly (152). The actuator assembly (152) includes pistons (144 and 150) for assuming at least three selectable positions corresponding to engagement of one of at least three selectable auxiliary transmission section ratios and is enclosed in a valve body housing (170) having enlarged cavities adjacent the inlet ports (182, 184, 186) to define enlarged fluid reservoirs (R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3) in fluid communication with the working surfaces (192, 194, 196, 202, 212) of the pistons.

摘要： A hydraulic operating unit for the friction engaging apparatus of a transmission provides a hydraulic operating unit which permits the introduction of a low-pressure working fluid to permit the forceable disengagement of the hydraulic operation unit to work against the fluid which would normally urge the unit into engagement. The effective pressure-receiving area on the releasing side of a hydraulic power servo mechanism is made sufficiently large with respect to the effective pressure-receiving area on the engaging side of the servo mechanism while the piston diameter is kept small in order to save space in the construction of the servo mechanism while at the same time permitting the device to effectively disengage the friction mechanism.
