    • A control device, actuatable by electric solenoids, for the drive unit of a tape recorder, in which the tape, in addition to the normal forward for recording and playback can also run fast forward or reverse, all three drive settings being obtainable with only two solenoids, which solenoids act on two opposite arm ends of a T-shaped lever which has a centrally located pivot bearing. The lever can also be translated in a cross direction and is pulled by a spring against abutments which are disposed opposite the solenoids, so that by suitable switching of the solenoids it can be rotated or even only translated. By the translation the normal forward speed can be set and upon rotation the fast forward or fast reverse can be set by the third arm of the lever.

    • A power transmission system with a gearwheel and a toothed rack, having an engagement securing system that ensures increased power transmission and protection of the toothing in the end region of the rack. According to the invention the engagement securing system comprises a lug disposed on the rack, which lug engages a guide connected to the gearwheel. In the exemplary embodiment the guide comprises a groove disposed on a disk coupled to the gearwheel. Advantageously, no additional individual parts are required. The range of applications includes an automatic transport securing system in recording or playback equipment for optical, magneto-optical or other recording media, as well as other rack drive systems that require increased power transmission in the end region of the rack.

    • A magnetic tape cassette recorder, comprising: take-up and feed spools for winding and unwinding a magnetic tape carried in a removable cassette; a tumbler gear mounted for swinging motion about a stationary shaft and movable between the take-up and feed spools; a motor, disposed outside the cassette when the cassette is operatively inserted in the recorder, for selectively driving the take-up and feed spools through the tumbler gear; a capstan driven by the motor; a pinch roller for pressing the magnetic tape against the capstan; a transmission mechanism driven by the motor and having a planetary gear assembly, including a planet carrier, for driving the tumbler gear; first and second annular coupling parts rotatably stacked along the stationary shaft; a third coupling part connected to the planet carrier and rotatably stacked between the first and second coupling parts, defining respective sets of opposing facing surfaces between the third coupling part and each of the first and second coupling parts; a frictional element stacked between each of the respective sets of opposing facing surfaces; and, a stop lever for selectively preventing: (a.) one of the first and second coupling parts from rotating; (b.) both of the first and second coupling parts from rotating; and, (c.) both of the first and second coupling parts and the planet carrier from rotating, thereby controlling coupling forces driving the take-up and feed spools under different operating modes.

    • A cassette loading facility has a guide frame arranged on a chassis in a fixed position. A receiving device is movable between a loading position, in which a cassette can be introduced and removed therefrom, and an operating position. The cassette is positioned on the chassis by means of positioning pins and catch apertures which are formed on the cassette housing. The catch apertures lock the cassette during its transportation between the loading and the operating position and also center it in the operating position. Instead of a fixed arrangement on the drive chassis, the positioning pins are fixed on a first pivoted lever which is pivotally mounted on the cassette receiving device and which can be pivoted into a first position in which the positioning pins release the cassette so that the cassette can be introduced into the cassette receiving device and removed therefrom, and can be pivoted into a second position in which the positioning pins engage with the catch apertures of the cassette whereby the pivoting of the first pivoted lever from the first position into the second position and vice versa is carried out at the loading position of the cassette receiving device. The cassette is locked in the cassette receiving device during its loading or unloading process by the positioning pins engaging with its catch apertures. Upon reaching the operating position, the lower ends of the positioning pins each engage with correspondingly arranged centering apertures in the chassis.
