The first inner layer and one or more of the outer coaxial shells or tubes can be formed of ultrasound transmitting metal compositions such as stainless steel, nickel-titanium, or aluminum, or other similar suitable ultrasound transmitting metals. In one embodiment, the first inner layer is formed of a nickel-titanium alloy, and at least one outer coaxial shell or tube is formed of stainless steel. In another embodiment, the first inner layer is formed of nickel-titanium alloy, a first outer coaxial shell or tube is formed of stainless steel, and a second outer coaxial shell or tube is formed of the nickel-titanium alloy.

摘要： A separate deliverable embolic protection device filter that attaches to a helical coil at a distal end of a conventional guide, for use in a blood vessel when an interventional procedure is being performed to capture any embolic material which may be created and released into the bloodstream during the procedure. The device includes a filter assembly with a proximal end and a distal end, and a guide wire connector attached to the distal end of the filter assembly. The guide wire connector is able to couple with the helical coil of the guide wire. A restraining sheath placed over the filter assembly in a coaxial arrangement maintains the filter assembly in a collapsed position and delivers the filter assembly separately to the helical coil of the guide wire, and then the guide wire connector is joined to the helical coil. Alternatively, the guide wire can include a rotatable coil section forming a portion of the distal tip coil on the guide wire which is adapted to be coupled to the filter assembly. This arrangement allows the filter assembly to be rotatably mounted onto the guide wire.

摘要： A locking component for locking a medical device onto a guide wire. Such medical devices include, for example, an embolic filter assembly used to capture embolic material that may be created and released into a patient's vasculature during a stenting or angioplasty procedure. The embolic filter assembly tracks along the guide wire, and is delivered to a treatment site where it is locked in place and deployed. The locking component enables the filter assembly to lock onto any standard guide wire, and does not require a modified guide wire that has a specially-designed fitting or stop to accomplish the locking function.

摘要： A catheter device incorporating combined ultrasound ablation and balloon dilation components. The catheter device generally comprises an elongate catheter body having proximal and distal ends and an outer surface. Disposed on the outer surface of the catheter body is a dilation balloon. At least one balloon inflation lumen fluidly connects the proximal end of the catheter body to the dilation balloon to permit injection of inflation fluid into the dilation balloon. Extending longitudinally through the catheter body is an ultrasound transmission member having a proximal end and a distal end, with the proximal end being connectable to an ultrasound transducer such that ultrasonic energy will pass through the ultrasound transmission member to the distal end thereof. In alternative embodiments of the present invention, there are provided catheter devices incorporating combined ultrasound ablation and laser ablation components as well as combined ultrasound ablation and atherectomy ablation components.

摘要： A device for measuring ultrasonic activity in an ultrasound delivery system has a sensor for providing an output representative of a sensed ultrasound vibration level, an indicator for receiving the output of the sensor and providing an indication of the vibration level sensed thereby, and a rigid body to which the sensor is attached. The rigid body comprises a sensor attaching portion and a catheter abutting portion configured to abut the distal end of an ultrasound delivery system catheter. Ultrasonic activity of the ultrasound delivery system is measured by abutting the distal end of the catheter to the catheter abutting portion of the rigid body and noting the indication provided by the indicator. Use of a disposable sterile catheter abutting portion removeably attachable to the sensor attaching portion facilitates isolation of the sensor attaching portion within a bag along with an ultrasound transducer.
