摘要： A flotation assembly for a riser pipe generally includes a pair of elongated semiannular flotation collars fabricated in part of a buoyant material and each including a pair of spaced clamps useful in attaching the collars about the riser pipe. These clamps are preferably imbedded within an inner surface of the collar. The present invention is directed to securing devices for retaining the clamps, and in turn the collars, in place tightly against the riser pipe. These securing devices also hold the choke and kill lines, conventionally associated with a riser pipe, in place adjacent the riser pipe.

摘要： A riser pipe, usually used in drilling for oil, has an annular flotation collar positioned about it. This collar comprises a pair of semiannular flotation members each of which includes a semicircular outer shell of fiberglass, a semiannular low density core preferably including a plurality of plastic hollow spheres surrounded by a syntactic foam, and arcuately-shaped clamping means embedded in the core. Passages through one of the semiannular flotation members provide access to the clamping means so that it may be secured to the riser pipe. The clamping means also includes recesses for holding the choke and kill lines in place on opposite sides of the riser pipe and spaced therefrom.
