    • The present teachings describe a system for processing financial transactions. In one embodiment, the system includes a remote terminal adapted to identify the location of financial transactions via global positioning system (GPS) information such that the remote terminal acquires transaction information from a user and transmits a first signal indicative of transaction information and GPS information. In addition, the system includes an authorizing host adapted to receive the first signal transmitted by the remote terminal such that the authorizing host evaluates the risk associated with financial transactions based, at least in part, on the GPS information so as to determine whether to accept or decline the financial transaction. The present teachings further describe devices and methods of acquiring GPS information for the purpose of managing risk for financial transactions.

    • A waveguide directional filter for combining multiple high power UHF television broadcasting transmitters on to a common antenna. The directional filter arrangement includes an input waveguide, an output waveguide and an interconnected cascade assembly of two or more cavity resonators. The input and output waveguides are each aperture-coupled to an end cavity resonator of the cascade assembly. The edges of each aperture incorporate inwardly extending curved protrusions of a characteristic shape. Alternatively or additionally, at least one pair of non-adjacent cavity resonators are coupled by at least one additional coupling element incorporating an external transmission line.

    • A redundant architecture for a brake-by-wire system is provided. The system includes a pressure source; at least one brake actuator for exerting a braking force on a wheel as a result of pressure provided by the pressure source; at least one servo valve for controlling an amount of pressure provided from the pressure source to the at least one brake actuator in response to a servo valve command signal; a shutoff valve in line with the at least one servo valve for preventing pressure from the pressure source from being provided to the at least one brake actuator in response to a shutoff valve command signal; a processor which executes code in order to carry out brake control operations, the processor outputting the servo command signal and the shutoff valve command signal in response to system inputs provided to the processor; a shutoff valve enable device for performing brake control operations redundant at least in part with the processor and based on the system inputs, and selectively enabling shutoff valve command signals from the processor to be provided to the shutoff valve based on the redundant brake control operations.

The system may further incorporate filtering means for providing a graphical interface with filtered data associated with a user-selected feature, at least one user database which stores a unique identifier of the user-selected feature, automated selection means for incorporating data associated with the user-selected feature into at least one document, and generation means for creating an architectural document, such as a specification, detail, or schedule. The system may include at least one remote catalogue database from which the user-selected feature is identified. Included are tracking the architectural process, querying a user database or a group of user databases, and generating Industry Foundation Class tags for industry compatibility searching.
