摘要： A method and system for conveying location-granularity preferences with location-based service requests. A client station will detect a request to initiate a voice call, and before actually initiating the call the client station will send a message into a network indicating how to carry out a location-based service. In this manner, each time the client station accesses a location-based service, the client station will automatically send the instruction message to the service provider directing the provider how to carry out the service. Upon receiving the instructions, the location-based service provider may proceed to determine the location of the client station. The location-based service provider may then adjust the location of the client station according to the instructions. The service provider could then return the location of the client station, adjusted according to the instructions, directly to a location-based application, to provide the requested location-based service to the client station.

An illustrative method includes referencing one or more attributes of a currently present media file, based on the attributes, determining a set of absent media files that are related to the present media file but not currently available for presentation via the device, and presenting indications of at least a portion of the absent media files of the set. An indication of one or more absent media files may be presented to a user so that the user may recognize absent media files. In one embodiment, such an indication may include an identifier, such as text or a symbol, that is positioned adjacent a media attribute that describes the absent media file.

摘要： A mechanism is disclosed for engaging in interactive photo gaming with user ratification. The mechanism can be used to provide a picture-tag game or other games. In a picture-tag game, for instance, a user designated as “IT” tags another user by capturing a photo of the other user. The photo is then transmitted to a game host, which distributes it to the participating players' devices. Upon receipt of the photo, a device presents the photo and prompts a user to acknowledge that the photo represents the user, i.e., that the user has been tagged. The device then sends the acknowledgement to the game host, and the game host notifies the players who is now designated as IT.

A user may configure the handheld device to automatically shift to a pre-determined location in the handheld device. The handheld device may implement software that records keystrokes. The handheld device may implement a sensory mechanism that records touches on the handheld device. Based on the touches, the keyboard in the handheld device may shift to or away from the hand touching the handheld device or the hand recording the majority of touches on the handheld device.
