摘要： A method and apparatus for testing blowout preventer systems that enables testing of various size pipe rams, as well as safe and efficient shut-in of a well, without having to trip the entire apparatus out of a well. The testing apparatus generally includes an upper elongated testing cylinder, an upper test seal assembly, a lower elongated testing cylinder, a lower test seal assembly and a test plug. Additionally, the testing apparatus may include a circulating flow assembly, a side-port assembly, and a check-valve assembly, all of which are axially connected in a series to allow the testing tool to be easily lowered into a riser to a subsea blowout preventer assembly. The subject invention permits testing of blowout preventers that are designed to seal around various size pipe diameters during a single pipe trip. The invention also allows the operator to efficiently and safely shut-in a well if a kick is experienced during testing operations.

A manual seal in the spout can be manipulated between open and closed positions by a trigger on the exterior of the spout, and locked into the open position by a releasable locking arm. A vertically-arranged opening in a dome seal attached to the spout helps prevent spillage in the event the urinal is knocked onto its side when the manual seal is locked open. The spout is attached to the canister by a releasable collar, and thus can be easily separated for cleaning.

摘要： An apparatus is provided for monitoring the location of a person and for determining whether the person is in distress. The apparatus includes a transmitter and a transceiver, which are adapted to be worn at different locations on the person's body. The transmitter normally transmits a first electromagnetic signal, which is detectable by the transceiver and by at least one remote receiver. When the person is in distress, the transmitter transmits a second electromagnetic signal in lieu of the first signal. The transceiver is responsive to the second signal for generating a third electromagnetic signal, which also indicates that the person is in distress. The remote receiver is responsive to either or both of the second and third signals for generating an alarm signal indicating the distress condition. The transceiver also generates the third signal in response to the absence of the first signal, which may occur when the transmitter is removed from the person's body and the distance between the transmitter and transceiver becomes too great for the transceiver to receive the first signal, or due to transmitter malfunctional. The third signal therefore provides a redundancy feature in the event of failure of the transmitter to generate the second signal. The apparatus not only allows the person's location to be continuously monitored, but also indicates when the person is in need of assistance.
