    • A device for coupling two containers comprising connecting branches having essentially circular cross section, with each of the connecting branches having a closing member at one end, which is essentially circular in cross section, for closing the end facing away from the container. When the two connecting branches are brought together, the two closing members are combined into a single member moved by a single actuator so that no clearance is required in each of the branches between the ends of the branch and the member. Each of the branches has annular edge seals, which, in an uncompressed condition, engage a circumferential edge of each of the closing members and are compressed when engaged with the edge seal of the adjacent branch member to release the respective closing member. The edge seals coact to form a butt chamber and one of the branch connections has a circumferential sealing sleeve into which the other of the branch connections is inserted in a sealing fashion when forming a connection between the two branch connections.

    • The present invention describes an igniter-destructor device for projectiles, grenades, cartridges, missiles or the like, comprising a thin-walled aluminum capsule, an igniter-destructor charge provided within said capsule, possibly an ignition expediting material within this charge, and a flange piece disposed at the head-end of the aluminum capsule and having an axial bore. The aluminum capsule is coated with a thin-walled plastic jacket which is preferably made from a shrink hose. Furthermore, there is preferably provided a specifically embodied ignition-expediting material which consists of ignition particles statistically distributed within the igniter-destructor charge. Such an igniter-destructor device is characterized by an especially clean and reliable operation as its functional conception, even under high stress occurring in the use of appliances which such igniter-destructor devices are installed into, remains substantionally unchanged.

    • A process is provided for defending objects emitting an infrared radiation, in particular ships, against missiles, which are equipped with intelligent infrared seeker heads. Following location of the missile, adjacent the object a large area pyrotechnical perturbing radiation cloud, which releases high infrared radiation in a short period of time, which hashes the locking on and pursuit electronics of the seeker head, and subsequently releases a weak infrared radiation for a comparatively long period, is produced between the object and the missile. Immediately following the end of the high radiation phase of the perturbing radiation cloud, several fake target clouds are set up that then lead the missile step-by-step away from the object to be defended. The perturbing radiation clouds are produced by the droppable bodies, whose active masses comprise phosphorus flares and phosphorus pellets.

    • A smoke screen shell is provided having a rapidly burning decoy charge that generates a spontaneous fog and a slowly burning camouflage charge that generates a lasting fog. The decoy charge and camouflage charge are fired from a canister sleeve by an ejection charge. Upon firing, pressure from the ejection charge is communicated through a channel to a relief chamber positioned between the decoy charge and the camouflage charge. This results in an accelleration difference, causing a separation and slightly different trajectories, the decoy component accelerating at a higher rate. The decoy charge takes effect in the air prior to the camouflage charge. The collocation of the spontaneous fog and of the lasting fog essentially occurs in the target. The decoy charge and the camouflage charge land within a proximity at a target area such that a collocation occurs between the spontaneous fog and of the delayed lasting fog. The ignition and relief chambers, the channel therebetween, the charges, etc. are dimensioned and configured to assure the desired proximal collocation without a mechanical connection between the camouflage charge and the decoy charge.

    • A missile includes, as viewed successively in flight direction, a booster, a folded drag chute in a parachute housing, a cruise engine and a warhead. The booster is detachable from the drag chute before the opening of the drag chute and the drag chute is detachable from the cruise engine upon the activation of said cruise engine.
