    • The invention relates to a lock assembly (10) of a planar component (22) displaceably mounted in frame (30). Said assembly (10) comprises an engaging element (40) which, in said planar component's closed position, can be fixed in place in a latching system (50). Said latching system is designed in a manner that, in its blocked position, the engaging element, for instance a bar affixable by compression and/or friction in the latching system (50), can be inserted into latter in a first direction (R) opposite the direction of closing (X) of the planar component (20), whereas such insertion is blocked in a second direction (S) which is opposite said planar component's direction of opening (O). This design allows almost noiselessly operating the lock assembly. The planar component also may be closed when the latching system is in the blocked position already when the planar component is open. Moreover all double fittings are averted and as a result the said planar component always can be closed and be locked in play-free manner.

    • The present invention relates to a sliding door latch having a locked and unlocked position for a sliding door having an open and closed position. The sliding door latch includes a handle assembly with a handle and a locking mechanism. The handle is a first position, wherein the locking mechanism is engaged and the sliding door latch is locked, to a second position, wherein the locking mechanism is disengaged and the sliding door latch is unlocked. The locking mechanism may prevent the handle from moving from the second position to the first position when the sliding door is open. The handle is pivotable between the first position and the second position only when the door is closed. Resistance forces may prevent the handle from moving from the second position to the first position when the sliding door is closed without an application of force by a user.

    • A self-engaging emergency egress lock assembly mounted to a door track is described. As a door lock strike element contacts a lock strike assembly contained within the door lock assembly, the strike assembly hinges over the door lock strike element. When the door reaches a predetermined down limit power is applied to activate an actuator. Upon activation, the actuator engages a lock strike stop which prevent the strike assembly from disengaging the door lock strike element. If the door is attempted to be opened while the lock strike stop is engaged, the lock strike assembly pushes against the stop, preventing the door from traveling upward. In an emergency egress (alarm) condition, power to the actuator is terminated, thereby releasing the lock strike stop and by extension, the strike assembly, thus disengaging the door lock strike element, thereby providing emergency egress capability.

    • An adjustable stop is adapted to limit travel of a sliding sash window/door, and can be installed upon the window/door master frame during initial manufacturing of the product, or may be an after-market option added at some time after manufacturing was completed. The stop may even be installed upon sash windows/doors currently in service in a building. The stop is intended to limit sash travel between a closed position and a safe position, where the safe position is a position significantly less than a full-open position. The safety stop may be comprised of a housing and a tumbler being pivotally mounted within a cavity in the housing, with a spring to bias the tumbler out of an opening in the housing. Mounting is by a flange extending from the housing, with spacers of varying thickness that are capable of removably attaching thereon to accommodate sash to master frame height differences.

Lock with Z Flange is placed securely through garage door vertical track on one side with back plate and shackle inserted through lock cylinder on opposing side and is securely in place above roller.
