摘要： A method of manufacturing a color display tube of the refocusing type in which supports of insulation material are secured against an apertured metal plate. The supports are provided with a conductor at least on the side remote from the plate, so that the plate constitutes a first set of lens electrodes and the conductors constitute a second set of lens electrodes. The two sets of lens electrodes form a quadrupole lens in each aperture in the metal plate when a voltage difference is applied between the first set and the second set. The defocusing direction of the quadrupole lens is parallel to the phosphor strips of the display screen.

摘要： Method and apparatus are disclosed having particular utility in connection with packages overwrapped with heat shrinkable film and which include a tear-tab opening. The apparatus includes means to sever the film and tape together by the use of a cutting tool. The cutter is generally pen-shaped, the nib portion forming the cutting surface. Other parts of the apparatus include a tab roller which provides variable control capability to allow the tab to be positioned at a pre-selected place on the package. The tear tape tab produced by the apparatus and method of this invention eliminates the need for melt re-inforcing and is applicable to high speed operations of either the continuous or reciprocating kind.

摘要： A paper dispensing apparatus includes a base member having a stand and a pair of wheels and a support member attached to the base member. A plurality of shafts extend outward from the support member to respectively support different widths of paper rolls. A handle can be attached to the support member to assist manipulation of the apparatus by an operator. Cutting bars can extend either in a cantilevered fashion adjacent the respective paper rolls or be attached at either end of the respective shaft. A pressure bar can hold the paper roll and assist in applying masking tape from an adjacent masking roll support member. Extension tubes are provided for adjusting the length of a shaft to accommodate a paper roll greater in width than that of the shaft length. As an alternative embodiment, a hand-carried single shaft dispenser is also disclosed.

摘要： Disclosed is a new and improved apparatus for aligning and bonding a pre-perforated flexible repair tape to the side edge portion of an elongated strip, such as motion picture film, having damaged sprocket feed hole perforations located therealong. Film to be repaired is fed continuously from a supply reel to a repair station comprising a grooved pressure roller cooperating with a sprocket roller specifically designed to more precisely align the preformed feed holes of the tape with the damaged feed hole locations of the film, and to bond the tape and film together in the aligned condition, the laminated tape and film thereafter being directed over an exit ramp to a storage reel for collection.

摘要： Apparatus for shaping and applying a flat applique on a striplike flexible substrate. Means is provided for cutting the outer boundary of the applique from a larger body of material, and, when desired, for cutting inner boundaries and removing the excess material. A punch guide supports a punch having a first cutting edge which reciprocates toward and away from an orifice in a first shear plate. A first channel above and a second channel below the first shear plate respectively accommodate the applique material and the substrate material at first and second levels, whereby the punch cuts the outer boundary of the applique at the first level, presses it through the orifice in the first shear plate and onto the substrate material at the second level. If desired, a second cutting edge may be provided on the punch to cooperate with a second shear orifice at the second level to punch out any internal portions not forming part of the applique. As further optional features of the invention, printing means can be disposed adjacent to the punch guide, as may a cutter for serrating or cutting the substrate material.

An L-shaped bracket is fixed across the upright with its outstanding leg generally parallel to the outstanding leg of the upright to provide a tear edge for the roll material. The other end of the bracket is provided with a rotatable hub for supporting masking tape at a position to overlap the side edge of the roll material.
