    • The present invention relates to polyester polyols having a hydroxyl number of about 80 to 250, containing reaction products of(a) 54 to 58 mol % of a polyol component and(b) 46 to 42 mol % of a dicarboxylic acid component, characterized in that(a) the polyol component contains (i) about 70 to 90 mol % of hexane-1,6-diol and (ii) about 10 to 30 mol % of at least one higher valent alcohol selected from trimethylolpropane, glycerol, pentaerythritol and mixtures of these polyols, and(b) the dicarboxylic acid component contains (iii) about 50 to 80 mol % of isophthalic acid, (iv) about 20 to 30 mol % of at least one dicarboxylic acid of the formula HOOC--(CH.sub.2).sub.n --COOH (n=an integer from 2-8) and (v) 0 to about 20 mol % of at least one dicarboxylic acid or at least one dicarboxylic acid anhydride selected from terephthalic acid, phthalic acid, phthalic acid anhydride, tetrahydrophthalic acid, tetrahydrophthalic acid anhydride, hexahydrophthalic acid and hexahydrophthalic acid anhydride.The invention also relates to the use of these polyester polyols as the binder component for two-component polyurethane lacquers containing lacquer polyisocyanates for the production of lacquer coatings on molded plastics parts.

    • The present invention relates to lacquer polyisocyanates which contain about 0 to 8% free isocyanate groups, about 10 to 28% blocked isocyanate groups and about 2 to 10% of the structural units, --NH--NH--CO--O, all percentages based on the weight of the polyisocyanates, but excluding the weight of the blocking agent. Also provided is a process for preparing these polyisocyanates which comprises reacting about 10 to 30 mol % of the isocyanate groups of an organic polyisocyanate with reaction products which have (i) alcoholic hydroxyl groups and (ii) structural units of the formula, --O--CO--NH--NH--CO--O--, and/or of the formula H.sub.2 N--NH--CO--O--, with the formation of urethane groups and optionally groups corresponding to the formula, --NH--NH--CO--O--, and reacting about 50 to 90 mol % of the isocyanate groups of the organic polyisocyanate with a blocking agent. The reaction products containing alcoholic hydroxyl groups are obtained by reacting 1 mol of hydrazine or of hydrazine hydrate with about 1 to 2 mols of a cyclic carbonate. A final object of the present invention is the use of the new lacquer polyisocyanates as the isocyanate component in thermosetting, two-component polyurethane lacquers.

    • The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of aqueous dispersions or solutions of isocyanate polyaddition products characterized in that oligourethanes(a) which have an average molecular weight of less than about 15,000,(b) which contain from about 0 to 120 milliequivalents, per 100 g of solid content, of built-in ionic groups and/or from about 0 to 25% by weight, based on the total weight of the oligourethane, of built-in ethylene oxide units --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --O-- present within a polyether chain and/or from about 0 to 30% by weight, based on the total weight of the oligourethane, of external emulsifiers which are not chemically fixed, the total quantity of the aforesaid hydrophilic groups or external emulsifiers being sufficient to ensure the dispersibility or solubility of the oligourethanes in water, and(c) which contain primary or secondary amino end groups or semicarbazide end groups with at least one NH end groupare reacted in the aqueous phase with a chain lengthening agent which is at least difunctional and which undergoes an addition reaction or condensation reaction with the amino end groups or semicarbazide end groups to effect chain lengthening of the oligourethanes. The present invention also relates to the dispersions or solutions obtainable by this process and to their use for the production of films and coatings.

    • The present invention is directed to a process for the production of polyisocyanates containing isocyanurate groups by trimerizing a portion of the isocyanate groups of hexamethylene diisocyanate using N,N,N-trialkyl-N-benzyl-quaternary ammonium hydroxides as the trimerization catalyst, terminating the trimerization reaction at the desired degree of trimerization by adding a catalyst poison and/or by thermally deactivating the catalyst and removing unreacted hexamethylene diisocyanate to a residual content of at most 0.2% by weight, characterized in that a) the hexamethylene diisocyanate used as starting material is freed from carbon dioxide to a residual content of less than 20 ppm (weight) and b) the catalyst is used in a quantity of less than about 0.03% by weight, based on the weight of the hexamethylene diisocyanate used. The present invention is also directed to the polyisocyanates containing isocyanurate groups obtained by this process and to their use, optionally blocked by blocking agents for isocyanate groups, as the isocyanate component for the production of polyisocyanate polyaddition products.
