摘要： Disclosed are anthraquinone dyes useful in conventional dyeing of synthetic fibers and for incorporation by copolymerization into polyesters for coloring the same, said dyes having the structure ##STR1## wherein R is --OH, --COOR.sup.1, or --COX wherein R.sup.1 is --H or a radical such as lower alkyl which may be used in polyester forming condensation reactions, X is halogen, preferably Cl or Br, n is 1 or 2, either A or B of II must contain, and A or B of I may contain, at least one additional ##STR2## group, and each of rings A and B may be substituted with 1-3 radicals such as lower alkyl, cycloalkyl, lower alkoxy, chlorine, bromine, amino, lower alkyl amino, substituted lower alkyl amino, aryl amino, lower alkylsulfonyl, lower alkylthio, arylthio, and the like. The term "lower " as used herein means 1-6 carbons. These dyes can be used for conventional dyeing of a variety of fibers including polyester, polyamide, and cellulose ester, in addition to dyeing polymers by incorporation into the molecule, and are particularly useful for imparting red to greenish-blue shades to polyester plastics materials such as bottles when employed in the proper combinations.

摘要： Disclosed are mono azo dyes derived from diazotized 3-amino-2,1-benzisothiazoles and certain aniline, 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline, and benzomorpholine couplers containing sulfoalkyl groups. These dyes impart fast violet to blue shades on polyamide fibers and have the general formula ##STR1## wherein the Coupler is a derivative of an aniline, tetrahydroquinoline, or benzomorpholine derivative wherein a --Z--SO.sub.3 M group is attached to the nitrogen thereof, R may be hydrogen or one to three substituents such as lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, chlorine, bromine, iodine, sulfamoyl, and substituted sulfamoyl, the coupler ring may contain one or more substituents selected from lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, halogen, acylamido, alkylthio or aryloxy, the remaining hydrogen of the aniline coupler nitrogen may be replaced by a substituent such as lower alkyl, substituted lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, aryl, or cycloalkyl, M is Na.sup.+, K.sup.+, NH.sub.4.sup.+, and Z is a linking group such as ethylene.

摘要： Provided are new compounds useful as near infrared fluorophoric markers. In the practice of this invention a method is also provided for tagging thermoplastic containers using near infrared fluorescing compounds or copolymerized residues readily capable of detection. The new compounds are phthalocyanine and naphthalocyanine derivatives which are covalently bonded to substituted silicon and aluminum compounds. The methods, compositions, and compounds described herein thus provide a total system useful for marking, for identification purposes, the various classes of thermoplastic wastes, so that they can be identified, sorted, and subsequently recycled.

摘要： Provided is a new process useful for preparing arylsulfonyl halides, which comprises the addition or drowning of halosulfonation reaction products, produced by the reaction of aromatic compounds (arenes), with excess halosulfonic acid, into C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 aliphatic ketones, preferably acetone, isopropyl alcohol, or mixtures thereof, instead of drowning into water as is known in the art of aromatic sulfonyl chloride preparation. Less heat of reaction is observed, thus making the drowning of the halosulfonation reaction mixture safer and more controllable. Further, less hydrogen chloride gas is evolved from the drowning mixture and generally more highly pure arylsulfonyl chlorides are produced.
