摘要： An embodiment of the present invention relates to a system for the integrated and automated analysis of DNA or protein, including a single-use cartridge, an analysis device comprising a control device, and devices for capturing and processing signals. An embodiment of the present invention relates, in particular, to the control device for carrying out a completely automatic process and evaluation of molecular diagnostic analysis via single-use cartridges (Lab-on-a-Chip). The first devices are provided for controlling an analysis process which occurs in the cartridge, subsequently the displacement and the thermostatisation of liquids, and the second devices are provided for processing the signals which are obtained during the analysis. The first and the second devices are synchronized in such a manner that the analysis process of the sample can be carried out in a totally integrated manner thus producing an immediate result.

摘要： A process is disclosed for determining the concentration of nucleic acids in a sample in a microfluidic device. In at least one embodiment, the method includes a) introducing the sample into a first chamber, b) carrying out a number of cycles of an amplification reaction to be carried out in cycles for amplifying nucleic acids, c) transferring a defined volume which is a fraction of the volume of the first chamber and which has amplified nucleic acids into a second chamber and replacing the transferred defined volume with fresh reagents for the amplification reaction, d) determining the concentration of the amplified nucleic acids in a second chamber equipped with an element to determine concentrations, and e) repeating steps b)-d) until a concentration of the amplified nucleic acids which is within a range is determined in the second chamber. An arrangement is further disclosed.

Each spot contains a microelectrode system for the impedance spectroscopic detection of binding events occurring between the catcher molecules and target molecules of an analyte solution applied to the spots. The microelectrode system has a pair of polarisation electrodes in order to produce an alternating electromagnetic field and a pair of sensor electrodes for measuring a voltage drop in the analyte.

摘要： An electrochemical sensor is provided on a substrate whereby a precious metal layer is arranged in an inner region under an electrolyte layer that is surrounded by a polyimide structure. A hydrophobic layer is surrounded by an outer polyimide structure and further is located on top of the electrolyte layer and extends laterally beyond the electrolyte layer. A lead for electrical connection of the precious metal layer extends under the hydrophobic layer laterally from the electrolyte layer is sealed from the hydrophobic layer by a protective layer. The protective layer prevents the penetration of analysis fluid into the gap between the hydrophobic layer and the surrounding polyimide structure into the inner region of the sensor. The material of the protective layer is preferably a double layer of PECVD oxide and PECVD nitride.

摘要： A substrate of a lab-on-a-chip system has two adjacent recesses, one serving as a flow channel and the other one being filled with an elastomer compound. In a first state, the elastomer compound and the substrate delimit the flow channel in a section. In a second state, the elastomer compound takes up the space in the recess in the substrate along a cross-section of the flow channel, thereby completely closing the flow channel. The substrate and the elastomer compound may be produced by injection molding techniques.
