    • Disclosed is a method and apparatus for rotating a heavy weight object by coincidence of centers of gravity. The apparatus includes a fixing frame unit to fix the weight object; a weight object rotating unit accommodating the weight object, including a rotatable semicircular frame, and connected to the fixing frame unit; a weight object/frame support unit formed under the semicircular frame to support the semicircular frame; and a motor/gear unit formed between the weight object rotating unit and the weight object/frame support unit to rotate the weight object rotating unit using bearings. The apparatus rotates the weight object even when the minimum force is applied to the weight object through the weight object rotating unit, has a minimized radius of rotation, and secures the safety, thus being applied to a production and assembly line in a narrow space to produce weight objects or a structural test building.

    • A system for assisting a physically challenged person, for example, a less mobile person in a wheelchair, assists in maneuvering the person and wheelchair. The system includes a frame, a wheel connected to the frame, a rack formed to glide on the frame, and a support connected to the rack. The support is formed to accommodate wheels of a wheelchair and a person sitting in the wheelchair. A mechanized lifter is connected to the rack and the frame, and the lifter selectively vertically raises and lowers the rack along the frame. A mechanized recliner is connected to the rack and the support, and the recliner selectively tilts forward and backwards the support relative the frame. By loading the wheelchair and person onto the support of the system, the wheelchair and person can be moved laterally, vertically, and reclined, by movement of the system and the support of the system. The person in the wheelchair can remain seated in the wheelchair to obtain the movement assistance. The system can be employed in a beauty salon.

    • A board turning apparatus is provided with a conveyor for transporting a board through an inspection station; the inspection station includes an array of photocells located below the conveyor and which operate to detect and scan the facing surface of a board as it passes over the photocell or is held in the inspection station by a detent arm; the output of the scan by the photocell array is delivered to a computer having an analyzing program for detecting discoloration in the surface or edges of the board that are scanned by comparing the scan to a set of conditions stored in the computer; a turning arm is connected to the computer and is actuated to engage an edge of the board and turn the board over by rotating it about its opposite edge on the conveyor to turn over the board to facilitate and optimize subsequent operations on the board such as edging of the board.

    • Apparatus for turning by 90.degree. a panel or a panel stack (P) on a cutting machine worktable (Q) comprises a withdrawable gripper means (1) rotatable about a vertical axis (2), which upon control clamps a panel stack (P) close to one of its rear corners. The gripper (1) is associated with a carriage (7) for causing the gripper (1) to perform in a programmable precise manner a rectilinear movement (3) near to, and away from the cutting line (Z) of the longitudinally cutting machine, such that the panel stack (P) will be turned in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction, depending whether it is clamped at its left-hand or right-hand corner. A withdrawable push roller (4) acts on the panel stack (P) concurrently with the gripper by being moved parallel to the longitudinally cutting machine in a programmable precise manner, so that it assists in the desired turning of the panel stack (P).
