    • The present invention provides a method for managing a database connection, comprising the steps of: in responsive to a connection request of a first application, allocating an available connection for the first application; if there is no available connection, selecting a held connection being used by a second application; backing up connection context of the held connection; releasing the held connection; and allocating the held connection for the first application. Since connection context of the application has been restorably backed up, a connection of the application can be cut off and the connection re-scheduled when necessary. As a result, the connection utilization rate is enhanced. The present invention further provides a device and system that can manage a database connection based on the technology of connection pools. (FIG. 5)

    • Seed keywords are leveraged to provide expanded keywords that are then associated with relevant advertisers. Instances can also include locating potential advertisers based on the expanded keywords. Inverse lookup techniques are employed to determine which keywords are associated with an advertiser. Filtering can then be employed to eliminate inappropriate keywords for that advertiser. The keywords are then automatically revealed to the advertiser for consideration as relevant search terms for their advertisements. In this manner, revenue for a search engine and/or for an advertiser can be substantially enhanced through the automatic expansion of relevant search terms. Advertisers also benefit by having larger and more relevant search term selections automatically available to them, saving them both time and money.

    • Techniques for cross-selling keywords among keyword bidding entities (e.g., advertisers) based upon bidding patterns are provided. Utilizing a keyword suggestion tool in accordance with one embodiment, upon receipt of a first keyword, may examine all additional keywords that have been paired with the first keyword in the bidding patterns of other bidding entities and recommend one or more of the paired keywords to the bidding entity for consideration. In another embodiment, a keyword suggestion tool, upon receipt of a keyword from a first bidding entity, may examine the bidding pattern of the first bidding entity in comparison to the bidding patterns of other bidding entities to identify bidding entities that are similar to the bidding entity. Recommendations may then be made to the first bidding entity based upon keywords that the identified similar bidding entities have bid.

    • A method embodiment deposits a dielectric layer over a transistor and then implants a gettering agent into the dielectric layer. The insulating layer into which the gettering agent is implanted comprises a single continuous insulating layer and is the insulating layer that borders the next layer of metallization. After this dielectric layer is formed, standard contacts (tungsten) are formed through the insulating layer to the source, drain, gate, etc. of the transistor. Additionally, reactive ion etching of the contacts is performed. The reactive ion etching process can create mobile ions; however, the gettering agent traps the mobile ions and prevents the mobile ions from contaminating the transistor.
