摘要： A wire-type electric discharge machining apparatus capable of attracting material from a workpiece to an integral electromagnet. An aperture is located proximate the electromagnet. When material is attracted by the electromagnet, the aperture will be obstructed. Attraction is confirmed by measuring the pressure in a chamber in communication with the aperture, such that a low pressure indicates obstruction, and thus attraction of the material to the electromagnet. If based on this measurement it appears that the material has not been attracted to the electromagnet, a further attempt is made at a different location of attraction.

摘要： An apparatus for laser recording of an image onto a selected length of photosensitive material has a loosening device positioned downstream from a feeding device for feeding the photosensitive material in a first direction so that the photosensitive material is loosened in a second direction to form a loop of a predetermined length selected by a user. In one aspect of the invention, the leading edge of the photosensitive material is held at a recording position. A cutting device is disposed between the loosening device and the feeding device and cuts off a photosensitive material sheet from the photosensitive material. An image to be reproduced is then recorded onto the photosensitive material sheet.

摘要： A focused ion beam is irradiated on a predetermined area of a substrate on which a film is to be formed, and a vapor stream of film-forming depositable material is directed onto a localized area of the substrate which is being irradiated with the focused ion beam to convert the film-forming material to a film deposit on the predetermined area of the substrate. The process can be used to repair white-spot defects in masks and to otherwise deposit films having sharply defined edges and widths in the submicron range.

The emitter region of the second stage transistor has an interdigital structure with a plurality of finger portions, and an emitter surface electrode is formed on the emitter region of the second stage transistor. The second stage transistor emitter surface electrode has an extending portion at a position spaced apart from a transistor operation region where the finger portions are formed. An emitter connection electrode is formed on the extending portion, and a lead is connected by soldering or the like to the emitter connection electrode. In a portion of the emitter surface electrode extending from the emitter connection electrode to the transistor operation region, slits are formed such that they are bypassed by emitter current so that the lead resistance from each finger portion to the emitter connection electrode is substantially uniform.

Since the feeding movement and upward and downward movement of the feed bar and the operation of the clamps are mechanically related to the movement of the slide, press work can be conducted stably even at a high speed.
