    • The invention relates to flowable and pumpable multicomponent mixtures based on a multiphase mixture of water and oil containing emulsifiers and, if desired, other soluble, emulsifiable and/or dispersible auxiliaries for their use in exploration by drilling and/or for the further treatment of the wells thus drilled. The invention is characterized by the use of emulsifiers or emulsifier systems which, in the particular multicomponent mixture in question, lead to temperature-controlled phase inversion at a phase inversion temperature (PIT) in a temperature range of which the upper limit is so far below the working temperature of the multicomponent mixture in geological exploration that the water-based part of the multicomponent mixture is present as a disperse (invert) phase in the continuous oil phase (w/o invert emulsion) while the lower limit of this temperature range enables the multicomponent mixture to be converted into an o/w emulsion with a continuous aqueous phase. At least partly nonionic emulsifiers or emulsifier systems with a PIT of 0 to 100.degree. C. are particularly suitable. The invention enables the requirements in regard to technical performance, ecological compatibility and cost/effectiveness ratio to be optimally satisfied.

    • The invention describes the use of water-insoluble esters with flash points above 80.degree. Drilling fluids of the above type are also described which are characterized in that they contain as the continuous oil phase, or dissolved in ecologically-acceptable water-insoluble oils, an additive of at least largely water-insoluble ethers from monohydric alcohols, the oil phase in each case being fluid and pumpable in the temperature range of 0.degree. to 5.degree.     • A gripper assembly having a plurality of tube gripping apparatus is provided for transferring full and empty bobbins between the bobbin bank of a textile fly frame and a supply creel. The gripper assembly is mounted on a traveling service unit and includes a drive device for commonly driving the tube gripping apparatus to synchronously grip and release tubes to be transferred. Each tube gripping apparatus includes an axially movable tube engaging member having gripping portions for compressively gripping a tube, a gripping portion drive member pivotally supported in a housing, and a pivot movement converting device for converting pivoting of the gripping portion drive member into axial movement of the tube engaging member. The gripping portion drive member is operatively connected to a common drive shaft of the gripper assembly for driving pivoting thereof. The pivot movement converting device includes a pair of diametrically opposed rollers rotatably supported on the gripping portion drive member and a cooperating cam surface formed on one end of the tube engaging member. A plurality of springs bias the rollers and the cam surface into continuous engagement with one another. Each tube gripping apparatus additionally includes a tube top engaging component and a tube insertion component for insertion into the tube to stabilize the tube during a tube transfer operation.
