摘要： A signal amplifying circuit and associated methods and apparatuses, the circuit comprising: a signal path extending from an input terminal to an output terminal, a gain controller arranged to control the gain applied along the signal path in response to a control signal; an output stage within the signal path for generating the output signal, the output stage having a gain that is substantially independent of its supply voltage, and a variable voltage power supply comprising a charge pump for providing positive and negative output voltages, the charge pump comprising a network of switches that is operable in a number of different states and a controller for operating the switches in a sequence of the states so as to generate positive and negative output voltages together spanning a voltage approximately equal to the input voltage.

摘要： A circuit method includes periodically increasing a tail current of a differential stage of a comparator to periodically power on the differential stage to a power-on state, and periodically decreasing the tail current of the differential stage to periodically power down the differential stage to a low-power state. The periodically increasing of the tail current and the periodically decreasing of the tail current are asynchronous operations for powering on the differential stage to the power-on state and powering down the differential stage to the low-power state. Periodically increasing the tail current and the periodically decreasing the tail current asynchronously for powering on the differential stage to the power-on state and powering down the differential stage to the low-power state provide for low noise and high speed during signal comparison.

摘要： An amplifier-based system having pulsed output includes an amplifier for amplifying a time varying voltage signal to produce an output voltage signal. A voltage-to-current (V-I) converter converts the output voltage signal into a current signal. An output stage including a current integrator integrates the current signal to generate an integrated voltage. An amplitude to time converter generates a pulse train from the integrated voltage, wherein a timing of the pulses in the pulse train represents the original time varying voltage signal. The pulse train representation permits transmission and accurate remote reconstruction of the original time varying voltage signal, such as signals generated by electrodes implanted inside a subject, including neural signals.
