摘要： A vehicle includes a front axle and rear axle, where at least one of said axles is driven, an engine arranged in the vicinity of the rear or front end of said vehicle, the engine including an output shaft connected to the driven axle via a transmission system for transmitting driving power from the engine to the driven axle. The transmission system includes at least a multiple-speed gearbox for causing variable gear ratio between the engine and driven axle. The engine and at least a part of the gearbox are arranged on each side of the driven axle, and are connected only via a power transmitting device so that an engine block of the engine is separated from a gearbox housing of the gearbox.

摘要： Method and arrangement for adjusting shift characteristics of a transmission of a heavy vehicle. A heavy vehicle is operated and that is powered by an internal combustion engine equipped with an automated manual transmission and a power take off. The power take off, when operating, imposes a torque-consuming load on the engine. Operation of the power take off is detected when the engine of the vehicle is in a power mode. At least one gear-shift event is adapted to occur at a higher engine speed when power take off operation is detected than when power take off operation is not detected. The gear-shift event is affected at an engine speed that is approximately five to twenty-five percent higher than when power take off operation is not detected. The gear-shift event may be an up-shift to a lower ratio gear engagement or a down-shift to a higher ratio gear engagement.

摘要： This apparatus is a mobile self-contained unit. The invention utilizes two distinct existing devices. The first device is an internal combustion engine. The second device is an electric generator that produces electric current. This apparatus is used to create electricity on board an electric vehicle while it is in motion. This invention burns many types of fuels for its power source, such as gasoline, propane, natural gas, bio diesel and ethanol to mention some of the most popular fuels. In the description for this application we are using hydrogen as its fuel. This would be considered a hydrogen-powered internal combustion engine. The internal combustion engine is mated together mechanically with an electric generator to produce electrical current. The hydrogen gas is burned as the fuel as it is produced. The hydrogen can be stored or made on board by using an electrolysis system. The invention in this application would be considered a hydrogen generator set. The most common name for this apparatus is known as a “genset.” The more common type of genset is powered by fossil fuels and other types of man-made fuels. The mobile aspect of this apparatus is such that it can be placed in many settings where electricity is needed to power equipment or drive an electric motor to move or turn a load. As an example, the invention can be placed onboard a vehicle or on small mobile platform with wheels; this makes it easily movable in shop or home situations, or it can also be mounted on a permanent frame if needed.

A startup and maneuvering control device is provided according to the invention, which reads in driving resistance data, determines therefrom a driving resistance value, and determines a base value of the clutch torque of the automated startup clutch in dependence thereof, which is adjusted in dependence upon the accelerator pedal.
