As the fabric sheet conveys the paper web around the first rotatable drum, a drying air is applied to the paper web in a direction from the inner perimeter of the first rotatable drum toward the outer perimeter of the first rotatable drum, further passing through the paper web. As the fabric sheet and paper web proceed around the second rotatable drum, a drying air is applied to the paper web in a direction from the outer perimeter of the second rotatable drum toward the inner perimeter of the second rotatable drum, further passing through the paper web in a similar direction.

    • A system for dispensing individual sheet material segments from a roll of sheet material in which the sheet material is separated into individual segments by perforated tear lines. The sheet material roll is continually positioned on support rollers with the lead end of the sheet material passing through a nip defined by the rollers and a member which is biased against the rollers to resist rotation thereof. After passing through the nip the end of the toweling proceeds through a restricted opening. Pulling of the end-most segment by a consumer causes the end-most segment to be separated along the perforated tear line separating it from the adjoining, following segment.

    • A carton and blank for forming such carton are disclosed including a top wall, a bottom wall and a plurality of sidewalls extended upwardly from the bottom wall to the top wall.     • A creping system includes a Yankee dryer rotatable about its axis, a blade support mechanism which includes (a) a pair of guide rails, (b) a fixed attitude linear bearing engaging and translatable along each of the guide rails, each fixed attitude linear bearing being mounted on a block and (c) a combination linear-rotary bearing being carried by each block, the axis of each combination linear-rotary bearing being parallel to the generators of the surface of the Yankee dryer and collinear with the axis of the other combination linear-rotary bearing. A stub shaft engages each combination linear-rotary bearing, each stub shaft being translatable along, and rotatable about, the axis of its respective combination linear-rotary bearing. A blade holder is mounted between the stub shafts, and a blade mounted on the blade holder for engagement with the surface of the Yankee dryer. The blade support mechanism allows the creping angle of the blade to be adjusted and maintained within a desired range by allowing adjustment of the creping blade angle to compensate for changes in creping angle due to flexure of the blade and flank wear on the blade.

    • A single or multi-ply tissue product includes at least one foam-formed ply incorporating at least about 100 ppm of forming-loop-incorporated surfactant, the ply includes from at least about 50% by weight to about 80% by weight of relatively short, high softness cellulosic fiber formed by chemical pulping of hardwood. The fibers have a weight average fiber length of between about 0.5 to about 2.2 mm, a coarseness of about 7 to about 14 mg of fiber per 100 m of fiber length (mg/100 m). The ply includes from at least about 20% by weight to about 50% by weight of relatively long strength-enhancing cellulosic fiber chosen from chemically pulped softwood fiber and chemi-thermo-mechanically pulped softwood fiber and mixtures thereof. The strength-enhancing cellulosic fiber have a weight average fiber length of about 2 to about 4 mm, a coarseness of about 14 to about 28 mg/100 m. Optionally, up to about 30% by weight of bulk-enhancing fibers having a three-dimensional anfractuous character may be provided. The ply is embossed to an emboss depth of at least about 0.020 inch, the percent loss in total dry breaking tensile strength upon embossing of the tissue being no more than about 80% of the percent loss in total dry breaking tensile strength upon embossing plies of a comparable conventional water formed tissue. The ply includes a basis weight of from about 4 to about 20 pound per 3,000 sq. ft. ream.
