摘要： The application relates to a mount of a front seat passenger airbag unit in the upper area of a dashboard of a motor vehicle. The mount uses a holder which consists of flat material and on the one hand can be attached to the housing of the airbag unit and on the other hand can be attached securely to the vehicle. In order to ensure a certain degree of resilience of the airbag unit during the unfolding of the bag, the holder, which is made of a flat material, is guided along below the floor area of the housing and is connected there to the latter. The holder projects beyond the housing, on both sides and is attachable securely to the vehicle at a spacing from said housing in such a way that between the lateral ends of the housing and the mounting points of the holder fixed to the vehicle at a distance from the housing. The holder forms a deformable bridge area which serves to absorb energy and during loading permits the holder to rotate in both directions about its longitudinal axis.

摘要： A restraining system for knee protection in a motor vehicle having a safety belt system includes an element which deforms plastically upon impact of a vehicle occupant's knees. The element can be transferred by means of a servo drive from a comfortable remote-from-the-knee position into a securable, restraining close-to-the-knee position. The restraining system permits the largest degree of freedom of movement for the vehicle occupant given specific peripheral conditions or prevents the vehicle occupants slipping away towards the foot space of the vehicle. The signal for transferring the knee protection into its close-to-the-knee position in the driving mode occurs by a device triggered in the event of the non-use of a three-point safety belt system.

The gas spring balances part of the weight of the bonnet when the bonnet is to be opened by hand. In case of an accident the framework and/or the bonnet may be crushed in longitudinal direction of the car. In such case the piston rod of the gas spring is pushed inward of the cylinder beyond the normal innermost operational position and a retaining device becomes effective so as to prevent the piston rod from returning towards its outermost operational position.
