    • A changeover mechanism switches the power transmission path from a single reversible motor between parts performing a cassette and tape loading function and parts performing a tape unloading and cassette ejecting function in a cassette tape recorder. The changeover mechanism has a pivotable arm supporting a drive pinion, and the free end of the arm is connected to a shiftable reversing lever through a torsion spring which is arranged to bias the pivotable lever in a bistable manner so that it is moved positively in one direction and then the other, to mesh the pinion with a positive motion cam for unloading the tape and then with a cassette driving gear for ejecting the tape cassette to an unloading position.

    • Disclosed is a brake device constructed to supply a pressure fluid from a pressure source to brake actuating devices of the wheels of a vehicle. The brake device includes a brake retainer valve which has a valve element arranged in a valve chamber and a valve seat on which the valve element is seated and unseated. In the brake device, when on an upward slope the brake pedal and the clutch pedal are depressed. Sequentially, the pressure fluid is not released from the brake actuating devices to the pressure source by seating the valve element on the valve seat in spite of returning the brake pedal, and the pressure fluid is released by removal of the valve element from the valve seat by returning the clutch pedal. In the brake retainer valve, a solenoid is provided, which is connected to the device for detecting the backward driving of the vehicle to prevent seating of the valve element on the valve seat by attracting the valve element away from the valve seat.

    • A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus is provided which is selectively applicable for tape cartridges and tape cassettes and which is formed with an entryway into which a tape cartridge or a tape cassette is to be inserted. A first magnetic tape head is located deeper in the entryway for playing the tape contained in the cartridge and a second magnetic tape head is located below the entryway for playing the tape contained in the cassette. A holder for receiving and conveying the tape cassette is positioned in the entryway when neither the tape cartridge nor the tape cassette is inserted into the entryway. Also a holder positioning mechanism is provided for moving the holder downward out of the entryway when the tape cartridge is inserted into the entryway, thereby permitting the tape cartridge to be pushed deeper into the entryway so that the cartridge tape can come into cooperative engagement with the first magnetic tape head. The holder positioning mechanism also moves the holder downward into a predetermined position where the cassette tape can come into cooperative engagement with the second magnetic tape head when the holder receives the tape cassette therein.

    • In a ratchet wrench handle, an operation piece is swingably supported by an axis in a handle head. Positive and reverse rotation claws are disposed on one and the other portions of a distal end surface of an operation piece. The operation piece is provided with a cam edge at its backward end surface. A pressing pin is provided in a switch member such that the pressing pin can freely move into and out of the switch member. The distal end of the pressing pin pressurely contacts with the cam edge through a force of a spring. The switch member is located on a line extended from an imaginary straight line running between the rotation axis of the rotation member and the axis of the operation piece.
