    • A seatbelt alarm device for a vehicle includes a seat sensor, a seatbelt sensor, a judgment circuit, an alarm unit, and a child seat sensor. The seat sensor detects a mass on a seat of the vehicle. The seatbelt sensor detects whether a seatbelt of the seat is engaged with a seatbelt buckle. The judgment circuit generates a demand for a seatbelt-wear alarm upon determining that a mass sits on the seat and the seatbelt is not engaged according to detection signals of the seat sensor and the seatbelt sensor, respectively. The alarm unit generates the seatbelt-wear alarm. The child seat sensor detects a child seat mounted on the seat. The judgment circuit restricts operation of the alarm unit when the judgment circuit determines that the child seat is mounted to the seat according to a detection signal of the child seat sensor.

    • In order to provide a tool holder which greatly reduces frictional resistance between a locknut and a taper collet, and eliminates a twisting of the taper collet during tightening of the locknut, in a tool holder comprising a locknut 13 which pushes a taper collet 12 into a tapered hole 115 of a collet chuck body 11 to chuck a cutting tool 15, between a reference end 123 of the tape collet 12 and a collet supporting portion 131 opposed thereto, interposed is a bearing washer 14 to reduce frictional resistance between both contact surfaces. To both surfaces of this bearing washer 14, namely, to the respective surfaces which come into contact with the reference end 123 and collet supporting portion 131, surface treatment by any of ion nitriding, DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating, and TiN coating is applied.

    • A multiple computer system having team/work group features built in. A principal hardware component thereof is a unitary chassis of a compact tower configuration, designed to house electronics for up to four personal computers, all operating on a single power supply. The unitary chassis provides interconnecting cable for connecting up to four corresponding display terminals and keyboards. One of the personal computers in the chassis is designated the TEAMHUB and the remaining personal computers in the chassis are designated TEAMMATES. Up to three such TEAMMATES may be included in one such chassis. Two TEAMPRO systems may be readily combined to serve up to eight local users in a team/work group environment. Each such computer electronics within the TEAMCHASSIS provides a communication card, which may for example be a SCSI card providing data rate transfer between TEAMHUB and TEAMMATES at 10 Megabytes per second. Furthermore, within the TEAMCHASSIS, each computer comprises a CPU card and a monitor interface card, such as a VGA card. In addition, the chassis provides at least one 51/4 inch floppy disk drive and at least one 31/2 inch floppy disk drive, both of which can be shared by any of the four computers in a daisy chain configuration. In addition, each computer has its own hard disk drives. The system is also designed to connect to external devices, such as CD-ROM or other SCSI devices.

    • An optical information reading apparatus for optically reading information recorded on a recording medium with a laser light beam emitted from a light source. The apparatus comprises a hologram device for receiving at its center portion a laser light beam. The hologram diffracts the received light so as to produce a first diffracted light beam and is arranged to receive at its entire surface light to be reflected from the recording medium and to diffract the received light so as to produce a second diffracted light beam. This hologram device is arranged to be driven by a motor so as to move the first diffracted light beam for a scanning operation. Also included in the reading apparatus is a reflection assembly for reflecting the first diffracted light beam from the hologram device toward the recording medium and further for reflecting light reflected from the recording medium toward substantially the entire surface of the hologram device whereby the hologram device produces the second diffracted light beam. The second diffracted light beam is directed to a light-receiving device which in turn performs a photoelectric conversion in accordance with the intensity of the received light beam to read the information recorded on the recording medium. This arrangement allows the size-reduction of the apparatus concurrently with accurately reading out the information.
