    • When torque of a DC motor is dropped down to zero at a stop position, force is generated by deformation of a member for transmitting the torque of the DC motor. The force moves the driven body which is in the stopped state, which results in a shift of the driven body from the stop position. Therefore, a process for stopping the driven body is performed according to the amount of shift by an encoder which periodically outputs a pulse signal according to movement of the driven body, a unit for acquiring velocity information and position information of the driven body based on the pulse signal, a controlling unit for controlling a moving unit based on the velocity information and the position information, and a unit for calculating the amount of shift, which is caused by the force generated by the deformation of the member for transmitting the torque, at the stop position of the driven body.

    • An inexpensive ejection recovery device for an ink jet printing apparatus is provided which can simultaneously perform suction-based recovery operations using a single cap while preventing different kinds of ink from getting mixed in the print head. For this purpose, the ejection recovery device of the invention has a cap to cover a plurality of ejection ports formed in the print head and a pump connected to an exhaust port formed in the cap to generate a predetermined pressure. The cap is formed with a plurality of suction ports and with a plurality of paths connecting each of the suction ports and the exhaust port. Flow resistances of the paths from each of the suction ports to the exhaust port are set equal.

    • An ink-jet recording apparatus includes a recording head upon which ink discharging orifices are arrayed, a cap, having a perimeter coming into contact with a discharging orifice face on the recording head and a sealing space within the perimeter of the cap for covering the discharging orifices, an ink absorbing member provided in the sealing space, and a holding member provided within the sealing space at a position separated from the perimeter so as not to come into contact with the discharging orifice face when the perimeter of the cap is in contact with the discharging orifice face, to hold and prevent the ink absorbing member from being removed from the sealing space. Thus, the ink absorbing member is tightly held in contact to the sealing space of the cap so as to not depart therefrom, and particularly so as to not depart from a suctioning opening at the bottom face of the cap.

    • In the print position adjustment procedure when performing bidirectional printing by using a first head and a second head, patterns (A) and (B) are printed to adjust the print positions of the first and second heads relative to each other in each of the forward and backward directions. A pattern (C) is printed to adjust the print position deviation of one of the two heads (first head) between the forward and backward directions. From these patterns three correction values are obtained to perform corrections. This allows the print position alignment between the forward and backward scans for one head (first head) to be performed by using the pattern (C). The print position alignment of the second head with respect to the first head as a reference in each of the forward and backward directions can be performed by using the patterns (A) and (B). As a result, print position deviations that may occur when the printing apparatus performs bidirectional printing using a plurality of heads can be minimized without having to maintain the precision of the apparatus at so high a level.

    • The electric power breaker for breaking the electric power is placed on the midpoint of the electric power line from the battery power supply, and the electric power line is extracted from the electric power breaker. In addition, the electric power supply terminal is placed on the midpoint on the electric power line, from which the electric power is supplied to the individual electric load. The electric power distribution and the electric power supply operation to the electric loads are controlled by the multiplex communication. A semiconductor device having a self protection function is used as the switching device for supplying the electric power. The electric power line covered by the electric conductive material is arranged in a loop topology so as to start from the connection point to the battery and pass through the designated positions in the vehicle and return to the battery. On the designated points on this loop, plural control modules are connected, and the electric power is supplied to them from the battery. By isolating plural electric conductive parts of the electric conductive layer covering the electric power line, each part connected to the abnormality detection circuit of the individual control module, and by detecting the electric potential change in the individual electric conductive part, the position of the abnormality can be identified by the position of the isolated electric conductive part where the short circuit abnormality is detected.
