    • For supply to first and second feedforward distortion compensating circuits 33(1), 33(2) connected in parallel, a two-divider 31 divides into signals of a common phase and a common amplitude an input or composite radio frequency signal supplied to an input terminal 11. The composite radio frequency signal collectively has a plurality of radio frequency signals of different frequencies. A two-combiner 35 combines component outputs of the feedforward circuits in inphase as an amplified output signal which is supplied to an output terminal 13. In general, N feedforward circuits (N being an integer not less than two) are connected in parallel and are supplied with the input radio frequency signal through an N-divider. Component outputs of the feedforward circuits are combined in inphase as the output signal by an N-combiner. Alternatively, the input radio frequency signal is divided into signals of a predetermined phase difference and of a common amplitude by the N-divider. In this case, the component outputs of the feedforward circuits are combined in a phase of cancelling the predetermined phase difference by the N-combiner.

    • Two or more core wires are inserted into an approximately U-shaped barrel of a terminal and fixed to the terminal and each other. The terminal comprises a tab having serrations, formed on the upper and lower surfaces thereof, disposed along the boundary between the core wires so that the serrations shear an oxide film formed on the core wires in contact with the upper and lower surfaces of the tab and remove the oxide film from the core wires, whereby the core wires are electrically connected with each other via the tab. The tab is integral with or separate from a connector terminal or an inter-connecting terminal.

    • Method and apparatus for the manufacture of cigarette filters containing particulate material. Filter material composed of cellulose acetate tow is fed in the axial direction through a gap defined between a first pair of rolls so that the transverse cross-section of the filter material is changed to a substantially oval shape. The filter material is then fed through another gap defined between a second pair of rolls so that the transverse cross-section of the filter material is further changed to a substantially heart shape and at the same time providing pockets at axially spaced positions. Particulate material is deposited in said pockets. The filter material is closed so that the deposited particulate material is positioned in the interior of the filter material and wrapped with wrapping sheets.
