摘要： A process and apparatus for direct smelting metalliferous material is disclosed. The invention concentrates injection of solid feed materials comprising metalliferous material and carbonaceous material into a direct smelting vessel during the course of the process into a relatively small region within a metal layer in a molten bath in the vessel in order to generate a substantial upward movement of molten material and gas from the metal layer into a region in the vessel that is above the molten bath. In particular, the invention injects the solid food materials with sufficient momentum and/or velocity via an opposed pair of lances that are oriented within the vessel and arranged to form overlapping plumes of injected material in the molten bath.

The apparatus also comprises cooling water flow passages in the vanes that have inlets at the forward ends of the vanes and outlets at the rear ends of the vanes.

摘要： A method of sorting fragments of mined material that includes valuable and non-valuable materials is disclosed. The method comprising heating the fragments by heating selected materials within the fragments and thermally analysing fragments of the mined material to determine the temperature of each fragment. The method further comprises sorting fragments on the basis of the thermal analysis to separate fragments having a temperature within a temperature band defined by a range between an upper temperature limit and a lower temperature limit from fragments having a temperature outside the temperature band. The upper and lower temperature limits are selected to identify fragments as containing an amount of valuable material that is economically viable to extract based on the fragment temperature. Also disclosed are an apparatus for sorting mined material and a method of recovering valuable material by sorting in according with the sorting method.

The method includes a step 12 of decoupling a current impact table 64 from the BWR structural frame 68. The impact table 64 is lowered at step 26 from the structural frame 68. Thereafter at step 14 the current impact table is moved laterally away from and to one side of the yard conveyor. At steps 16 and 18 a fresh impact table is moved laterally to a location beneath the upper run 44 of the yard conveyor and coupled to the BWR 41.
