摘要： A method for the manufacture of a railroad crosstie (90) from recycled rubber is disclosed. The rubber crosstie (90) has an expected life of between 30 to 60 years and can be made primarily of rubber crumbs obtained from stockpiles of discarded rubber tires. A feature of the invention is to produce a crosstie (90) having at least one longitudinal side incorporating a plurality of indentations for more effective engagement upon installation into a gravel bed to avoid slippage.

摘要： On the-inside of heated molds hollow bodies are formed by vulcanization, the bodies are formed of elements from natural or synthetic rubber and/or treated elastomers, possibly associated with different materials such as leather, skin, cotton, metals, expanded rubbers and others, combined with each other. A pressurized fluid, such as hot or cold air, vapor or compatible gas, is injected between the hollow bodies being formed. During vulcanization, the components, airtight-coupled with each other along at least a contact and sealing common line, are pushed and kept in forming adhesion against the mold surfaces by the pressurized fluid.

摘要： A method for joining two or more substrates with a seam is provided. The seam is formed with a thermoplastic tape that is capable of forming an adhesive bond and a physical bond with a substrate. For instance, in one embodiment, the thermoplastic tape is formed from a polyurethane film. In addition, the seam can be utilized in a flat configuration or folded into a variety of different shapes, such as in a z-shaped configuration. As a result of the present invention, it has been discovered that a seam can be formed to have improved strength without substantially sacrificing the desired functional properties of the substrate materials.

摘要： To make it possible to precisely bond a tube blank having thickened portions projecting from an outer wall surface of a retention mold. A tube blank is formed of natural rubber and is provided with an air chamber peripheral wall, a sealant chamber peripheral wall and a partition. The tube blank has ends held by the retention mold which are bonded in an annular shape. The retention molds include an upper mold and a lower mold having respective retaining surfaces. Indents are provided in the retaining surface of the lower mold for engaging with the thickened portions projecting from the air chamber peripheral wall of the tube blank. By forming the indents in the retention surfaces of the lower molds, it is possible to hold the two ends of the tube blank without warping the tube blank and to precisely bond the two ends of the tube blank together.

摘要： Methods are provided for producing protective work gloves and other wearing apparel, having a variety of different protective and surface characteristics, as desired, without any separate cutting, knitting or sewing operations, and wearing apparel so produced by such methods. The method includes, for example, developing a work glove including its liner in a series of steps applied sequentially to a single form moving through a production line. The method eliminates the need for a separate operation for producing fabric liners including cutting, sewing and the manual loading of each individual liner on a form for subsequent dipping and coating operations. The resulting gloves may be moisture impervious or breathable, and have a variety of textured surfaces for various uses.

摘要： Devices for packaging and/or cushioning products and objects, the devices including permeable elastomeric sheets sealed together at predetermined locations to form separate and discrete chambers, or intercommunicating chambers, inflated initially with a gaseous medium comprising a gas other than air, oxygen or nitrogen which has a very low diffusion rate from each chamber through the elastomeric sheets, ambient air diffusing more readily through the sheets into each inflated chamber to provide a total pressure therein which is the sum of the partial pressure of the air in the chamber and the partial pressure of the gas in the chamber. Not only does the air diffusing into a chamber increase the total pressure therein above the initial inflation pressure of the gas, but the air in the chamber inhibits outward diffusion of the gas from the chamber or compensates for any loss of pressure caused by such outward diffusion of the gas.
