    • A drive mechanism for delivery of infusion medium a coil capable of being electrically activated to provide an electromagnetic field. The coil surrounds a piston channel extending in an axial direction. An armature is located adjacent the coil, on one side of the axial channel. The armature is moveable toward a forward position, in response to the electromagnetic field produced by activation of the coil. A piston is located within the piston channel and is moveable axially within the channel to a forward position, in response to movement of the armature to its forward position. The armature and piston are moved toward a retracted position, when the coil is not energized. The armature may be configured with a reduced diameter by including a coil cup for supporting the coil including a shelf portion defining at least a portion of a pole surface of the coil cup.

    • Compositions and methods for enhancing disease resistance to a pathogen in a plant are provided. Methods of the invention comprise stably transforming a plant with an antisense nucleotide sequence for a gene encoding an enzyme in the C-5 porphyrin metabolic pathway and operably linking the antisense sequence to a pathogen-inducible promoter, such that invasion of a cell by a pathogen elicits a hypersensitive-like response that results in confinement of the pathogen to cells of initial contact. Transformed plants and seeds are provided. Nucleotide sequences encoding a wild-type maize urod gene useful in the present invention and the amino acid sequence for the protein encoded thereby are provided. These compositions are also useful for regulating cell death in specifically targeted tissues. A maize lesion mimic, dominant mutant phenotype, designated Les22, and the molecular basis for its manifestation are also provided.

The substrate includes an air bag opening that is closed by a door. The door has a hinged end that is clamped to the substrate by a frame that is beneath the substrate, a reinforcement bar that is above the substrate and a plurality of fasteners that force the frame and reinforcement bar toward each other. An air bag canister is attached to the frame beneath the air bag opening of the substrate and the frame is attached to automotive body structure so that the substrate is isolated from the reaction forces of the canister when an air bag housed in the canister inflates and pushes the door through the instrument panel covering.

    • A self piercing cover assembly for concealing an air bag restraint system in a vehicle passenger compartment has a plurality of retractable cutter blades that are attached to the underside of an invisible door beneath the instrument panel by leaf springs. When the air bag inflates, it pushes the cutter blades out against the bias of springs to cut through the instrument panel at several locations along the front edge of the door making it easier for the door to swing open. The cutter blades retract under the action of the leaf springs so that the cutting edges are below the surface of the cover assembly to protect against contact with the cutting edges after the air bag collapses.
