    • A propulsion device which takes advantage of the fact that the mass of an object will decrease if the energy density of the object changes rapidly. The energy density is changed by exposing the object to a rapidly changing electric field or magnetic field or by causing the object to experience quantum mechanical tunneling. By these means, the mass of a rotating object is decreased to one side of the axis of rotation, creating an unbalanced centrifugal force that acts on the rotating object as a propulsive force in the direction from the lower mass half to the higher mass half. The propulsive force is used to propel an object or hold an object in position in opposition to an outside force or provide mechanical energy for a purpose such as the generation of electricity.

    • An engine is disclosed. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the engine comprises a compressor, and combustor, and an expander. The compressor compresses ambient air. The combustor bums the compressed air, and produces exhaust gasses. The expander receives the exhaust gases from the combustor, and expands the exhaust gasses. The compressor may be a gerotor compressor or a piston compressor having variable-dead-volume control. The expander may be a gerotor expander or a piston expander having variable-dead-volume control. In another embodiment, an engine comprises a piston compressor, a combustor, a piston expander, and a pressure tank. The piston compressor compresses ambient air. The combustor bums the compressed air, and produces exhaust gasses. The piston expander receives the exhaust gasses from the combustor, and expands the exhaust gasses. The pressure tank receives and stores the compressed air from the compressor. In another embodiment, a gerotor compressor or a gerotor expander comprises an inner gerotor, and an outer gerotor. The inner gerotor and the outer gerotor are driven so that they do not touch. The gerotors may be cantilevered or non-cantilevered.

    • An externally fired gas turbine system according to the present invention has a compressor for compressing ambient air and producing compressed air, an air heat exchanger for heating the compressed air to produce heated compressed air, a turbine for expanding the heated compressed air to produce heat depleted expanded air, and a generator connected to the turbine for generating electricity. According to the present invention, the system also includes combustible products producing apparatus for processing fuel to produce combustible products that include combustible gases and an external combustion chamber for burning the combustible products and transferring heat to the air heat exchanger and producing heat depleted combustion products. The system also includes a closed Rankine cycle steam power plant having a water heat exchanger for vaporizing water and producing steam using heat contained in the heat depleted combustion products. The power plant further includes a steam turbine for expanding the steam producing power and expanded steam, and a steam condenser for condensing the expanded steam producing condensate that is returned to the water heat exchanger.
