    • One or more embodiments of the present invention relates to a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger comprises a pair of header-tanks having at least one partition wall and at least one baffle; a plurality of tubes; and a plurality of fins. A communication hole is formed on the partition wall that is positioned at a region disposed between the baffle and one end of the header-tank adjacent to the baffle. Given that a distance from the baffle to the one end of the header-tank is 100%, 1˜4 communication holes are formed at positions on the partition wall which corresponds to an extent of 0˜50%, 65˜100%, or an extent of 0˜50% and an extent of 65˜100%.

    • In an evaporator that constitutes part of a vehicular air conditioning apparatus, first fins having louvers therein are arranged between first and second tubes. Together therewith, a second fin, which does not have any louvers therein, is provided at a boundary portion between a first cooling section, which faces toward a first front passage through which air from a first blower unit flows, and a second cooling section, which faces toward a first rear passage through which air from a second blower unit flows. In addition, air is supplied to the interior of a casing from the first blower unit and is cooled by the first cooling section, which is partitioned by the second fin, whereas air supplied from the second blower unit passes through the second cooling section, which is partitioned from the first cooling section by the second fin.

    • An evaporator including a refrigerant inlet header having a refrigerant inlet at one end thereof, and a plurality of heat exchange tubes arranged at a spacing longitudinally of the inlet header and each having one end joined to the inlet header. The interior of the inlet header is divided by a flow dividing control wall into an upper space for admitting a refrigerant thereinto through the refrigerant inlet and a lower space communicating with the heat exchange tubes. The control wall has a communication hole formed in an end portion thereof opposite to the refrigerant inlet. The upper and lower spaces communicate with each other through the communication hole so that the refrigerant flows through the lower space in a direction opposite to the direction of flow of the refrigerant in the upper space. The evaporator achieves a high heat exchange efficiency.

    • A heat exchanger has header tanks each including a header forming plate, a tube connecting plate, and an intermediate plate interposed between the two plates, the plates being arranged in superposed layers and brazed to one another. Each of the plates is made from a metal plate by press work. The header forming plate has an outward bulging portion. The tube connecting plate has tube insertion holes. The intermediate plate has communication holes causing tube insertion holes to communicate with the interior of each outward bulging portion therethrough. Heat exchange tubes have opposite ends placed into the respective insertion holes and brazed to the respective tube connecting plates. The heat exchanger including such header tanks is reduced in the number of components, can be fabricated with a high work efficiency, and exhibits improved heat exchange performance.
