A shackle has longer and shorter leg portions to be received in the first and second shackle insert holes, respectively. The shorter leg portion is formed with a plunger engaging groove for engaging the latch projection of the plunger. The longer leg portion is formed with a ball retaining groove for engaging the locking unit. A biasing spring is disposed in the first shackle insert hole for biasing the longer leg portion upwardly.

摘要： A padlock concept consisting of a novel shackle comprised of two tapered shackle elements arranged so that they overlay each other to enclose and opening sufficient to accept the sample of a hasp or attachment device. The shackle elements are connected at one end and when unlocked and unlatched are free to move apart, in a motion causing the two shackle elements to separate, providing a clearance between them, at the unconnected end. Each shackle element includes an opening to allow the staple of the hasp to pass to the common opening. This clearance occurs in opposing elements so that when the elements are brought together or closed the staple of the hasp is completely enclosed by the two shackle elements which substantially fill the space available within the hasp staple. The elements are then latched and locked to provide the security function of a padlock engaged with the staple of a hasp or attachment device.

摘要： A pickproof lock assembly has two lock sections which can be opened by a single key. The first lock section includes a key plug and a first set of tumbler members which engage radial pits provided on the key so as to disengage the key plug from the lock shell. The second lock section includes first and second movable plug halves disposed inside the lock shell and a second set of tumbler members. The key has axially extending curve protrusions on one end to move the first and second plug halves and align groove-free spaces on the surface of the first and second plug halves to form a continuous annular path. The second set of tumbler members contacts the first and second plug halves at the annular path to permit rotation of the key plug relative to the lock shell. When non-alignment of the groove-free space of the first and second plug halves occurs due to insertion of a wrong key, rotation of the key plug by the wrong key causes the second set of tumbler members to engage notches on the surface of the first and second plug halves and prevent further rotation of the key plug.
