    • Shape memory dental retention systems which facilitate the adjustment or removal of an oral appliance, e.g., a crown or bridge, from a reconfigurable abutment assembly are described. The adjustable abutment assembly may be secured to an anchoring implant bored into the bones within the mouth. The abutment assembly has a projecting abutment portion with one or more shape memory material sleeves or plates or elements extending along the abutment. Each of the sleeves has a length with at least one curved or arcuate portion. Energy may be applied to the elements such that the arcuate portion flattens to allow for the oral appliance to be placed thereupon while removal of the energy allows the elements to reconfigure into its curved configuration thereby locking the oral appliance to the abutment. Removal of the oral appliance may be effected by reapplication of energy to the elements.

    • A two-part dental implant includes distal and proximal stem portions which in an interconnected condition at least indirectly adjoin each other at a connecting location and have mutually facing surfaces in the region of the connecting location. A sealing body is provided between the mutually facing surfaces of the distal and proximal stem portions. The sealing body has sealing surfaces which face towards the mutually facing surfaces and which in the interconnected condition of the two stem portions bear sealingly against the mutually facing surfaces thereof. In addition, mutually facing abutment surfaces are provided between the distal and proximal stem portions. These mutually facing abutment surfaces bear against each other in the final assembled dental implant and limit the degree of approach of the two mutually facing surfaces of the stem portions between which the sealing body is arranged.

Furthermore, when the orthodontic implant screw assembly including a head having a different shape according to the operations of orthodontic treatment of the mouth structure needs to be used, the orthodontic implant screw assembly is not replaced with other one but only an upper head of the orthodontic implant screw assembly is replaceable so that efficiency of orthodontic treatment can be improved and patient's inconvenience can be reduced.

    • An implant comprising two internal anti-rotational features. One anti-rotational feature is adapted to engage a driving tools while the other anti-rotational feature is adapted to engage an abutment. An implant abutment system is provided with an angled abutment adapted to mate with one of the anti-rotational features. A second, straight abutment is adapted to engage with the other anti-rotational feature. An abutment is provided with resilient fingers to interface with the implant and provide tactile and audible feedback indicating when the abutment is properly seated. An abutment screw extends through the abutment and engages the implant bore distal of the stem of the abutment. The abutment screw limits axial movement of the abutment relative to the implant. A driving tool comprising one of at least retention structure and visual alignment indicia is provided to facilitate screwing the implant into a patient's bone.
