    • A photographic camera with a zoom lens comprises a fixed lens barrel and a movable lens barrel which has a fixed lens group and a movable unit movably receiving a lens group. The movable unit is adapted to rotate in the movable lens barrel so as to shift axially the movable lens group with respect to the fixed lens group when the movable lens barrel is axially moved in order to shift the zoom lens between a wide-angle and a telephotographic condition. The lenses of the lens group of the movable unit are held by lens holders that are a round-ended configuration with straight sides between the rounded ends. These straight sides leave part-circular spaces in the movable unit, which is in the form of a rotatable cylinder. Rods on which these lens holders are slidably mounted are disposed in these part-circular spaces, to achieve a compact configuration.

    • A light emitting element module with a high yield where a portion through which a substrate and a lens are bonded can be prevented from cracking and peeling due to thermal expansion is provided. A light emitting element part equipped with a light emitting element and an optical lens for diffusing light from the light emitting element are provided on a substrate in the light emitting element module, where the lens is fixed to the substrate with an adhesive resin having a tensile breaking elongation of 50% or more. The lens also has a plurality of supports and is fixed to the substrate through these supports, so that stress in the portion where the substrate and the lens are bonded can be dispersed between the supports, and a layer in which air can circulate so as to release heat is provided between the substrate and the lens.

    • A highly efficient and reliable motor control system and motor control method are provided. The motor control system includes a motor having a plurality of sets of armature windings, a plurality of inverters which drive the plurality of sets of armature windings, and a plurality of control devices which control the inverters individually. In the motor control system: while a motor torque command is in a smallest-magnitude range, a first inverter is operated to energize a first set of armature windings; when the motor torque command increases into a next larger-magnitude range, the first and a second inverter are operated to energize the first and a second set of armature windings; when the motor torque command increases into a still next larger-magnitude range, the first, the second, and a third inverter are operated to energize the first, the second, and a third set of armature windings; and when the motor torque command increases into a largest-magnitude range, all inverters are operated to energize all sets of armature windings. Thus, the number of inverters driven and/or the number of sets of armature windings energized are sequentially changed according to the torque command.

    • Two sets of linear motors are fixed on opposed sides of a molding head driving device. Each linear motor includes a movable slider facing a casing. The linear motor contains a molding head and a magnetic plate facing a molding head. The use of two linear motors cancels out the magnetic attraction between the facing linear motors. A linear roller guide is disposed vertically in a direction perpendicular to the magnetic attraction between the linear motors so that the magnetic attraction from the linear motors does not act on the linear roller guide. In another embodiment, three sets of molding head driving devices are disposed between left and right frames integrally formed projecting from a base to form a molding device. In a further embodiment a pair of double linear motors drives four molding head driving devices. The double linear motors are affixed together by, for example, bolts.
