    • An ink jet print head has plural electrothermal converting elements for generating energy used to discharge an ink droplet, plural ink discharging ports arranged above the electrothermal converting elements and discharging the ink droplet, plural ink flowing paths respectively communicated with the plural ink discharge ports and internally including the electrothermal converting elements, a substrate for arranging the plural electrothermal converting elements in a columnar shape and having an ink supplying port constructed by a through port which is connected with the ink flowing paths and extends along an arranging direction of the electrothermal converting elements, and a discharging port plate having the ink discharge ports. The ink flowing paths are formed between the substrate and the discharging port plate by junctioning the discharging port plate onto the substrate. The ink jet print head further has a fluid resisting device of the ink flowing paths in which a side of the ink supplying port is opened in the vicinity of a communication portion of the ink flowing paths in an ink supplying port projecting are of the discharging port plate.

    • A liquid ejecting method using a liquid ejecting head having electrothermal transducer elements for generating thermal energy sufficient to create bubbles in liquid and ejection outlets disposed opposed to the electrothermal transducer elements which are arranged at a density not less than 300 per 25.4 mm in a line, the liquid ejection head also having liquid flow paths in fluid communication with the ejection outlets, respectively, wherein the bubble generated by the thermal energy generated by the electrothermal transducer element is brought into communication with ambience while an internal pressure of the bubble is less than an ambient pressure, and wherein droplets having volumes not more than 15×10−15 m3 are ejected at a frequency not less than 7 kHz, said method includes the improvement wherein the liquid flow path of the liquid ejecting head has a height not less than 6 &mgr;m, and a distance between an upper surface and a lower surface of the ejection outlet is not more than one half of a minimum opening distance through a center of the ejection outlet.

    • A web spreading apparatus for transversely spreading a web, such as a split web formed of a longitudinally uniaxially stretched film, includes a spreading means arranged in a travelling path of the web for transversely spreading the web. The spreading means comprises a curved rod-like member and projections arranged generally circumferentially about an axis of the curved rod-like member. The curved rod-like member is arranged so that the concave side is directed forward and the convex side is directed rearward, in the web travelling direction, and the projections are rotatable about the axis of the curved rod-like member at a speed higher than the travelling speed of the web. In one aspect, the curved rod-like member comprises a curved shaft and an outer tube arranged about the curved shaft and rotatable relative to the curved shaft, the projections being formed between the grooves cut on the outer tube. In another aspect, the projections are formed of a spring arranged about the curved rod-like member.
