摘要： The invention provides an injection molding method comprising supplying a gas into a molten resin in a plasticizing cylinder and injecting the molten resin having the gas dissolved therein, wherein when the resin is being plasticized, a gas space with a predetermined gas pressure is formed within the plasticizing cylinder in a gas supply section and the pressure at the front end of the screw is adjusted to be at least equal to the gas pressure in the gas space and within a range where the gas space can be maintained within the plasticizing cylinder in the gas supply section. According to the invention, the necessary amount of gas can be dissolved in the molten resin with good reproducibility in a quantitative manner.

摘要： A backflow blocking arrangement is for an injection unit of an injection molding machine having a plasticising screw with a front end for carrying the backflow blocking arrangement. The arrangement has a screw tip, a blocking bush and a blocking sleeve each with a base body material. The screw tip has friction surfaces and the blocking bush and the blocking sleeve each have sealing and friction surfaces. At least one of the friction and sealing surfaces is formed by a protective layer made of a fusion metallurgical compound of the base body material plus an additive. The additive is any one or more of a metal, a carbide, a carbonitride, a boride, a carboboride, a silicide, a sulfide or an oxide. The screw tip includes a mixed layer between its base body material and its outer layer, that includes the additive. The mixed layer is thinner than the outer layer and both the outer layer and the mixed layer include base body material in specific proportions with the additive. The outer layer and mixed layer are made from metallic mixed crystals and chemical compounds which contain material of the base body and the additive.

摘要： A mixing section for an extrusion or injection screw has alternating helical wiping and barrier lands which form inlet and outlet channels therebetween, with the barrier lands having a greater helix angle than the wiping lands, creating a conjunction of the adjoining wiping and barrier lands near the input and exit ends of the mixing section. The barrier lands also have notches cut therefrom to promote mixing and throughput. The barrier lands are widened at the conjunction with the wiping lands to form the termination of the downstream end of the inlet channels and the beginning of the upstream end of the outlet channels. Some or all of the channels do not have uniform depths such that the channels gently rise up to the narrowed beginning of the outlet channels and the narrowed ending of the inlet channels, with this tapering avoiding any pocket or hang-up area where melt flow could gather or degrade.

摘要： A plastic extruder having a rotating helical screw within a cylindrical shell. An automatic shut-off valve is mounted at the forward end of the helical screw. The valve includes a unitary or integral valve body and a poppet which is axially movable and is rotatable relative to the valve body. A rearwardly extending axial bore is provided at the forward end of the screw and the valve body extends into and is secured to the screw within said bore. The poppet has an axial stem which extends through the valve body into the axial bore. A compression spring is mounted on the rearward end of the poppet stem to act cooperatively with respect to the poppet to urge the poppet against a seating surface of the valve body and maintain the valve in a normally closed position. Flow of plastic through the valve upon rotation of the screw causes the valve to open. However, the valve automtically closes upon cessation of screw rotation to prevent back-flow of plastic during the injection step.
