    • A lathe includes a frame having a bed mounted on a top face of a base. A carriage includes a saddle movable relative to the frame along a rotational axis. A cross feed screw received in the saddle is rotatable relative to the saddle about a first rotating axis to drive the cross sliding board to move in the transverse direction. A driven gear is mounted on the cross feed screw. The saddle further includes a servo motor having a driving shaft. A driving gear is mounted on the driving shaft. The driving gear is rotatable about a second rotating axis to drive the driven gear to rotate. The carriage includes a controller electrically connected to the servo motor to control rotation of the servo motor.

    • A laser light barrier system for measuring or checking tools or workpieces on machine tools has a support which can be fastened to the machine frame. The support has an elongate base housing and two block housings, which at a mutual longitudinal distance project transversely from the elongate base housing and one of which contains a transmitter and one a receiver. The laser beam extends at a distance from and approximately parallel to the elongate base housing. An elongate stop element which is held in position by means of a latching arrangement, extends, in the space between the laser beam and the base housing, in the longitudinal direction from one block housing to the other block housing, and wherein the elongate stop element snaps off in the event of a collision with a moving tool or workpiece and, as a result, actuates an electric switch which, by acting on the emergency stop device of the machine stops the latter.

    • An adjustable stop mechanism for limiting the movement of a rip fence toward the cutting plane of a tiltable panel saw as an automatic function of the selected orientation of an abutment bar. The abutment bar has first and second orientations alternately presenting an abutment face of relatively low height, located at a greater distance from a reference surface, and a relatively greater height, located at a relatively shorter distance from the reference surface. When the abutment bar is rotated to the low height orientation, as to accommodate tilting of the panel saw blade, a limit stop position of movement of the abutment bar toward the cutting plane is automatically altered, so that the limit stop for the abutment bar support is farther away from the cutting plane. When the bar is oriented to present a full height abutment face, the limit stop automatically is altered in response to such orientation, to permit the support to move closer to the cutting plane.

When the piston rod moves in the retreating direction, the abutting member stops at a second position where it abuts a fixed shockabsorbing member.

The actuation sleeve is formed at its one end with a radially extended flange contacting a lever arm and, when axially moved, pivotally moves the lever arm to thereby actuate a switch element. This element, when actuated, controls the operation of the tool slide feed device.
