    • A theft-resistant fastener system includes a rotatable wrench adapted to engage a head portion of a fastener and to rotate that fastener and head portion about a fastener axis. The wrench and fastener jointly have at least three ball-and-socket joints distributed about the fastener axis. Each of these ball-and-socket joints has a ball in the wrench and a socket in the head portion of the fastener, with each socket being provided with a circular cross-section about a socket axis extending at an acute angle to the fastener axis. The wrench has a releasable actuator for pressing the balls into the sockets preparatory to and during rotation of the wrench about the fastener axis. The head portion of the fastener is prevented from clearing the balls, when the actuator presses these balls into the sockets, by providing that head portion at each socket with an overhang extending over part of the ball in that socket. A need for means for biasing the balls out of the sockets upon release of the actuator is avoided by providing each overhang with an outer limit closer to the fastener axis than a center of a corresponding one of the balls of the ball-and-socket joints. Actuation of the fastener by a conventional wrench is prevented by providing the head portion with outward slopes at the sockets and otherwise about the fastener axis.

    • An aerial terminal for telecommunication cables characterized by its construction which includes a substantially weathertight chamber for receiving a segment of the telecommunication cable and permitting individual wire pairs to be separated therefrom. This chamber is known as the splicing housing. The aerial terminal further includes a terminal housing which communicates with the splicing housing so that individual wire pairs may be operatively connected to a telecommunication terminal block for ultimate connection to individual subscriber lines. In addition to the general construction of the aerial terminal for ease of installation and access for the purpose of connecting individual subscriber lines to the telecommunication cable, the aerial terminal includes unique sealing sleeves for protecting the cable most effectively from adverse weather conditions. Unique locks are also disclosed for preventing unauthorized entry into the aerial terminal.

    • A device for assembly with a bolt or screw upon installation thereof to prevent tampering therewith, including a jacket member for encircling the enlarged fastener head with a collar portion for disposition adjacent its underside to clamp the jacket member in place upon tightening of the fastener and a cap member configured to fit within the jacket member to enclose the fastener head therewithin. A rounded annular channel is formed within the anterior wall of the jacket member and a square annular rib is formed on the outer surface of the cap member to provide a snap-tight interference fit therebetween. The interior jacket wall and the outer cap surface are also tapered at slightly differing angles to provide a supplementary interference friction fit. The snap-fit between the jacket and cap members is sufficiently strong that they cannot be separated using conventional tools without damaging or destroying the members. A special tool is provided for authorized separation of the jacket and cap members.

    • Apparatus for sealing a postage meter is disclosed. The sealing apparatus includes a cover with a cut-out portion. The cover portion includes two cover tab receiving openings which are positioned diametrically across from each other. The center of the cut-out portion has a bore hole that runs completely through the thickness of the cover. An insert is provided which is adapted to fit into and mate with the bore hole. The insert contains an opening which will accept a screw and also contains upwardly extending tabs. A screw is used to fasten the sealing apparatus to the postage meter. When the tabs are stacked over the screw, it is impossible to remove the screw without first breaking off the tabs. A broken tab will thus indicate that the meter has been tampered with.

    • A coupling arrangement includes a fastener driver head and a mating tool drive socket. The fastener driver head comprises a substantially circular disc-shaped base portion, a plurality of frustoconical portions integrally formed with the base portion and concentrically located within one surface thereof.     • The invention relates to fastening means of the known kind comprising a nut or bolthead and a spanner component, the nut or bolthead having a smooth edge surface and the spanner component having locating pins adapted to engage in cooperating bores in the nut or bolthead to rotate the nut or bolthead with the spanner component.
